Suspecting that her friend was gossiping about her on social media, a 10th grade female student (Dak Lak) assaulted her friend in class and brought an electric shock device to threaten her.
On March 4, a clip appeared on social media showing a female student sitting in a classroom being repeatedly slapped in the face by another female student. The incident happened in front of several students, but no one intervened.
In a report sent to the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Principal of Huynh Thuc Khang High School (Thong Nhat Ward, Buon Ho Town, Dak Lak Province) confirmed that the incident occurred at the school at around 9:30 a.m. on March 4. PHYN was the one who beat her friend, and NTL was the one who was beaten. Both were students in class 10A7 at Huynh Thuc Khang High School.
According to Mr. Hoang, after inviting the students to work, through their reports, the school determined that the reason was because student N. saw a post on social media (incognito mode) that spoke ill of him, so he suspected student L. had written it. When beating him, student N. brought his father's electric shocker (shaped like a lighter) to scare his friend.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, the school invited the parents of the two students and a related classmate to clarify the incident. At the same time, a report was made, along with the statements of the students and the evidence, and sent to Thong Nhat Ward Police for investigation.
In response to the act of beating a friend and using a weapon to threaten, the school decided to temporarily suspend student PHYN for 1 week. After the investigation is concluded, the school will establish a Disciplinary Council to handle the case based on the conclusion of Thong Nhat Ward Police.
According to Mr. Hoang, after the incident, the school principal and the homeroom teacher went to L.'s house to encourage and visit the student.
