(NLDO) - The Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee urged to expedite steps to be able to start construction of the civil aviation project of Phan Thiet airport in October 2025.
On March 11, Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Phan Thiet Airport project.
According to the Plan, Phan Thiet Airport includes a military airport and a civil airport.
Phan Thiet Airport started construction in January 2015. Up to now, the military items are being built by the Air Defense - Air Force and have basically been completed.

As for the civil category, due to the adjustment from the airport level (upgrading the scale from level 4C to 4E), changing the investor (the old investor is Rang Dong Group), Binh Thuan province is still urgently carrying out the procedures according to regulations.
Up to now, the revised Pre-Feasibility Study Report has been appraised by the Interdisciplinary Appraisal Council.
Mr. Do Huu Huy emphasized that this is a key project that has received attention from the people. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant units to prepare the documents for the Pre-Feasibility Study Report of the Phan Thiet Port project, Phan Thiet Airport project under the BOT contract to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval of the adjustment of the project investment policy.
At the same time, continue to deploy related work to speed up project implementation progress, striving to start construction in October 2025.
The Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant localities to focus on compensation and site clearance for the remaining items, to be completed in March 2025.
