VHO - In early 2025, in Binh Dinh, an international scientific conference will take place with the theme "Protecting and promoting intangible cultural heritage and Binh Dinh traditional martial arts".

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, on January 4-5, the unit will coordinate with the Institute of Cultural Research (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) to organize an international scientific conference with the theme "Protecting and promoting intangible cultural heritage and Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts" at the Binh Dinh Provincial Convention Center.

The international scientific conference with the theme "Protecting and promoting intangible cultural heritage and Binh Dinh traditional martial arts" will take place in early 2025.

The workshop aims to gather opinions from experts and researchers on intangible cultural heritage to serve the completion of the dossier of Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts to submit to UNESCO for consideration of inclusion in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. At the same time, it is an academic forum for domestic and foreign experts to clarify scientific issues on Traditional Martial Arts, the work of building a dossier to submit to UNESCO, the criteria for inclusion of the 2003 Convention and other scientific issues related to Traditional Martial Arts from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, the workshop also aims to protect and promote the value of traditional martial arts heritage in general and Binh Dinh traditional martial arts in particular from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage.

Mobilizing the active participation of the heritage practice community, efforts to strengthen state management activities in supporting the community to organize and practice heritage contribute to minimizing the risk of heritage being lost, ensuring the vitality of heritage for the present, the future and for sustainable development.

The contents of the Workshop ensure scientific, practical and effective content; attracting the participation of leaders, cultural managers, and prestigious domestic and international scientists.
