A strong bridge between the Party Committee, the government and the people
This morning, August 23, speaking at the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi for the 2024-2029 term, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasized that great solidarity is a precious tradition of our nation, forged through thousands of years of building and defending the country. In the Ho Chi Minh era, this precious tradition was strongly promoted and brought about enormous achievements, reflected in revolutionary victories of historical and epochal significance. President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Solidarity, solidarity, great solidarity. Success, success, great success" will forever be the guiding principle for the awareness and actions of our Party and our people.
Thoroughly grasping President Ho Chi Minh's thought and the Party's viewpoints, in recent years, the Hanoi Party Committee has seriously implemented and creatively applied the Central Committee's policies and resolutions, promoted democracy and the strength of the great national unity bloc, joined hands and unanimously fulfilled the tasks of building, protecting and developing the capital and the country, achieving great achievements over 40 years of renovation.
In particular, the City Party Committee has focused on leading, directing, and creating all conditions to build, develop, and improve the quality and effectiveness of the Hanoi Fatherland Front, the common home of all classes of people, and a vivid image of the great national unity bloc.
Reviewing the achievements of Hanoi in the 2019-2024 term, the Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that in the overall results of the city, the City Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations have truly been a strong bridge between Party committees at all levels, authorities at all levels and the people of the capital.
Warmly congratulating the achievements of the Fatherland Front at all levels of the city, the Secretary of the City Party Committee also respectfully thanked all classes of the Capital's people for upholding patriotism, love for Hanoi, solidarity, response, support and efforts to implement the policies of the Party, State and the City Party Committee and Government, contributing to the outstanding achievements of the Capital in recent times.
Promoting outstanding mechanisms and policies
The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee said that the Politburo issued Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 on the direction and tasks for the development of Hanoi Capital by 2030, with a vision to 2045, and the Law on the Capital (amended) passed by the National Assembly on June 28, 2024, creating great opportunities and advantages for Hanoi, and at the same time, more clearly defining the responsibilities of the Capital. Therefore, the entire political system must participate more actively, effectively promoting outstanding mechanisms and policies for Hanoi to develop rapidly and sustainably with a new stature and position.
From there, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai requested that in the coming time, the Hanoi Fatherland Front continue to perform well one of the top important tasks which is to build, consolidate and strengthen the great national unity bloc, ensure social consensus, high unity in ideology and action; propagate and mobilize people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and the City's policies and laws, clearly demonstrating the spirit of the Front accompanying the Party Committee and the government in all work...
In close adherence to the political tasks of the City and localities, the City's Fatherland Front at all levels needs to step up propaganda and mobilize all classes of people to actively participate in responding to and effectively implementing campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, implementing key projects for socio-economic development of the country and the City; discovering, introducing and replicating good models and good practices through emulation movements and social activities, strongly arousing patriotism, love for Hanoi, building a civilized, modern and cultural capital....
At the same time, the Fatherland Front at all levels of the city implements social security, humanitarian and charity programs with new, more effective and practical methods, aiming to mobilize enormous resources in society, the efforts of each citizen, together with Party committees and authorities at all levels to successfully implement socio-economic development goals and tasks.
The Front needs to improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism work, participate in building a clean and strong Party and government; promote the role of the Front and its member organizations in listening to and absorbing people's opinions; continue to promote the role and responsibility in organizing Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and electing deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
At the same time, the Hanoi Fatherland Front is required to continue to strongly innovate the Front's operation methods, focusing on the grassroots level, taking residential areas as the basis for organizing practical and effective activities; well implementing the regulations on coordination of activities between the Front, the government and member organizations; promoting the application of IT and digital transformation in the Front's activities.
At the same time, the City Fatherland Front continues to strengthen its organization and staff, improve the quality of activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels, especially at the grassroots level, in areas and units with current difficulties; build a team of Front officials at all levels who "Dare to think; dare to speak; dare to do; dare to take responsibility; dare to innovate and be creative; dare to face difficulties and challenges and dare to act for the common good"; further promote the potential and strengths of the Advisory Councils, Advisory Boards, Advisory Groups and the team of collaborators, intellectuals, artists, and overseas Vietnamese to contribute to the construction of the Capital.
