In her opening speech, Ms. To Thi Hai Yen - Principal of the school said that the school was established on September 26, 1989. In the 2024 - 2025 school year, Giang Vo Secondary School celebrates its 35th anniversary. The school has 2,383 students/51 classes. The total number of staff, teachers and employees of the school is currently 129 people.
Giang Vo Secondary School has been one of the leading secondary schools in Ba Dinh district for many years in terms of teaching and learning quality. The school's good and excellent student rate is always over 90%, of which excellent students account for about 70%. For many years, the school has ranked first in Ba Dinh district in terms of 10th grade entrance exam results, with a high rate of students admitted to public high schools and specialized high schools.
In addition, Giang Vo Secondary School is also one of the first secondary schools to send students to international competitions and its achievements have continuously increased each school year. In particular, in the 2023-2024 school year, the entire school's students won 1,741 excellent student awards in cultural and scientific subjects at all levels. Notably, 17 grade 9 students of the school were directly admitted to grade 10 high school.
Over 35 years of construction and development, the school has always successfully completed its assigned tasks. At the same time, it has become a trusted address for parents and students. Thereby, contributing to preserving and promoting the tradition of studiousness of the thousand-year-old capital Hanoi.
In recent times, theeducation and training sector of Ba Dinh district has focused on investing in and improving facilities to meet teaching and learning needs. In the 2023-2024 school year, many educational facilities were renovated, repaired, and newly built with a total cost of more than 476 billion VND. By the end of 2024, the whole district had 44/49 schools meeting national standards, accounting for 90%, of which 21 schools met national standards at level 2 (accounting for 43%). The quality of mass education and comprehensive education has been maintained, promoting the tradition of "good teaching, good learning" from previous school years. The quality of key education has been improved.
Accordingly, Ba Dinh district students have participated in more than 100 competitions and competitions for excellent students at all levels with 342 international prizes, 2,223 national prizes, 1,229 city prizes and 3,155 district prizes. As a result, in 2 consecutive school years (2022-2023 school year and 2023-2024 school year), the Hanoi Department of Education and Training decided to recognize the Ba Dinh District Education and Training Department as having 13/13 Excellent work targets and ranked 2nd/30 districts, towns and cities in the city...
