Making an appointment online, many people were fooled by the fake hotline of Bach Mai Hospital

Bach Mai Hospital warns that some customers who went online to search for information "Make an appointment at Bach Mai Hospital" were taken advantage of by scammers, losing nearly one million VND in phone calls and appointments.

Specifically, some patients' relatives, when typing the phrase "book an appointment at Bach Mai Hospital" online, were lured to a fraudulent phone number. While talking to the "operator", they were instructed that a Zalo friend would send them a confirmation message. Next, the customer received a QR code with an account number requesting a transfer of 600,000 VND (six hundred thousand VND) for the appointment.

The next day, when the customer went to Bach Mai Hospital to see his child according to the scheduled appointment, he was shocked because his name was not in the system. When he returned to the Zalo message, he saw that the content had been revoked and he could not contact the staff who confirmed the appointment. At this point, the customer knew he had been scammed.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to being scammed out of 600,000 VND for the appointment, the customer also has to pay a call fee of 8,000 VND/minute.

Bach Mai Hospital warns people to be vigilant when searching for information, making appointments and going to the doctor to avoid being scammed. They should look for official information pages of hospitals and medical facilities to contact and find information.

Note that the appointment is only completed when a call center staff calls to verify personal information and examination needs to classify into specialties and receive a message with examination form information via Zalo.
