Specifically, the two cases that were fined were Mr. LQC (residing in Vu Quang district) and Ms. NHT (residing in Ha Tinh city). These two people were fined a total of 15 million VND.
Previously, on June 11 and June 12, Mr. LQC and Ms. NHT used their personal Facebook accounts to post and comment with distorted and fabricated content about the attack on the People's Committee headquarters in Dak Lak.
Upon receiving the information, the Internal Political Security Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police invited the two people mentioned above to work. At the police station, Mr. LQC and Ms. NHT admitted their wrongdoings.
The Internal Political Security Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police has decided to fine LQC and NHT, each 7.5 million VND for the act of "Providing and sharing fabricated information, causing confusion among the people...".
Ha Tinh Provincial Police recommend that people using social networks absolutely do not post, comment, or share unverified, false, fabricated, or distorted information.
Posting false information on social networks that causes public confusion will be handled according to the law. If the posting causes serious impacts or consequences, it may result in criminal prosecution.
