Free buses will take workers back to their hometowns in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and some localities near Hanoi.

Since 5am this morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong's family (a worker at Panasonic Co., Ltd.) of 4 people has been present at the waiting room of Nam Thang Long Industrial Park, carrying their belongings and bags, excitedly preparing to board the free bus to return home for Tet.

Ms. Thuong shared that this year, thanks to the free bus from the union, her family did not have to book bus tickets to Ha Tinh like every year.

“In previous years, my family had to book tickets a month in advance, and when we got to the bus station, we had to jostle and squeeze, which was very tiring. But thanks to the free union bus, this morning we just had to show up and get on the bus to go home.

This year, thanks to the free ride, the Tet bonus of one month's basic salary is enough for the family to spend during Tet," Ms. Thuong happily said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan (39 years old; worker at Sumitomo Heavy Industries Vietnam) and 6 family members also returned to Thanh Hoa to celebrate Tet. This is not the first year Ms. Xuan's family has been able to travel by free union bus.

Ms. Xuan shared that because her family is large and her children are still young, this is the fifth year she has received free bus tickets from the union to return home for Tet. Thanks to the union bus, she and her husband packed their belongings and clothes early in the morning, and took a taxi to Thang Long Industrial Park to return home.

According to Ms. Xuan, in the difficult context, the union's support for the whole family to travel by free bus has saved the family a considerable amount of money. With the income of workers, this is truly useful material and spiritual support, helping workers return home to celebrate Tet more happily.

Mr. Pham Quang Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, said that understanding the worries of workers far from home and providing more motivation for union members to work with peace of mind, the Hanoi Labor Federation has supported 5,000 cash tickets and buses to take 1,200 people home for Tet.

This is the 17th consecutive year that the City's Trade Unions at all levels have organized this activity, thereby creating a positive effect, mobilizing and calling on businesses to join hands with trade unions to take care of union members and workers.

On the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025, there will be thousands of trips by businesses in coordination with grassroots unions to take workers home to celebrate Tet and welcome workers back to work after Tet.
