Housing helps workers have a stable place to live and feel secure at work. Therefore, in recent times, trade unions at all levels in Phu Tho province have promoted the implementation of the "Trade Union Shelter" program, supporting the construction of warm and loving houses for workers, civil servants and laborers in difficult circumstances.

“Trade Union Shelter” is a social security program with profound humanitarian significance launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL). The houses built by “Trade Union Shelter” have helped many union members and workers in Phu Tho province settle down and find work.

In Tan Son district, in the newly completed Trade Union shelter, Nguyen Thi Sang and her daughter and relatives are busy preparing and cleaning to move into their new home. Sang is often sick, and for many years she and her daughter have lived in the dormitory of Tan Son Primary School. Due to difficult circumstances, Sang did not think she could build a decent house. However, now, the dream of the mother and daughter has come true. Sang said that thanks to the care and help of the District Trade Union and Phu Tho province, she has been able to have her dream house.

As a case of receiving financial support from the Provincial Federation of Labor to build a house for the "Union Shelter", Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Van - a union member of Xuan Thuy Kindergarten (Yen Lap district) emotionally said, I thank the Union organization for caring, creating conditions, providing material support, and encouraging my family to build a new house.

It is known that Ms. Van's husband died in a work accident. Currently, Ms. Van has to raise 2 children alone, so the life of the 3 mother and children is difficult and they have to live in a dilapidated, seriously degraded house. Faced with the difficult situation of her family, the Phu Tho Provincial Federation of Labor decided to support funding so that she has more resources to build a house for the 3 mother and children. After 4 months of construction, Ms. Van's new house has been completed with a total area of 100m2, flat roof, total construction cost of 296 million VND. Of which, the Phu Tho Provincial Federation of Labor supported 50 million VND, the rest was helped by relatives, colleagues... The new house helps Ms. Van's family have a stable place to live, overcome difficulties, and improve in life.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang - Vice President of Tan Son District Labor Federation said that settling down and having a career is what every worker desires. In recent years, implementing the policy of Phu Tho Provincial Labor Union on implementing the program of building houses and Union shelters, Tan Son District Labor Federation determined that this is a major policy, humane, meeting the legitimate aspirations of workers and civil servants in difficult circumstances, who have the conditions to repair or build new houses. Therefore, in the coming time, to continue supporting union members, we will regularly direct and closely monitor the grassroots, regularly grasp the situation and life of union members to promptly support, ensuring that difficult circumstances are cared for by the Union at all levels.

According to Mr. Pham Son - Permanent Vice President of Phu Tho Provincial Federation of Labor, each Trade Union shelter built not only helps union members and workers in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives but also motivates them to complete their work well and become more attached to their agencies and units. At the same time, the program increasingly affirms the role and position in caring for the spiritual and material life of union members, workers and civil servants. The implementation of the housing program "Trade Union Shelter" of the Provincial Federation of Labor has achieved many practical results, promptly encouraging and sharing with the families of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in especially difficult housing circumstances, helping them to soon stabilize their lives and feel secure in working and producing.
