Continue pilot operation of electric cars to transport tourists

On March 18, information from the Department of Construction said that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Thieu has just issued a document on continuing the pilot operation of electric cars carrying tourists in restricted areas in the province.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee allows Dong Phong Tourist Transport Service Company Limited to continue the pilot operation of using four-wheeled vehicles with electric engines to transport tourists in restricted areas in the locality until June 30, 2025. The continued pilot operation is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Clause 9, Article 76 of Decree 158/2024/ND-CP dated December 18, 2024 of the Government regulating road transport activities. Specifically, "units and business households using four-wheeled vehicles with engines participating in the pilot operation before the effective date of this Decree may continue to operate until June 30, 2025, from July 1, 2025 must meet the provisions of this Decree".

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to take the lead and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to continue advising the Provincial People's Committee on organizing activities for four-wheeled motor vehicles to ensure compliance with legal regulations and traffic safety.

Previously, on January 6, 2023, Dong Phong Tourist Transport Service Company Limited put the project into pilot operation in the province. The vehicle serves tourists on routes, visiting the inner city of Bac Lieu city and some famous local tourist attractions such as: Southern amateur music art memorial site of musician Cao Van Lau, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Quan Am Phat Dai, longan garden, Xiem Can pagoda, Bac Lieu wind power...

By the end of February 2025, the Provincial People's Committee agreed to stop the pilot operation of electric cars carrying tourists in restricted areas in the province until new regulations are issued.
