The Cao Thang - Tien Phong road upgrade and renovation project is nearly 5 km long and 7 m wide, running through the communes of Cao Thang, Chi Lang Nam, Chi Lang Bac and Hong Phong. The total capital of the project is over 45 billion VND. This is an important road, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the southwestern communes of Thanh Mien district. At the end of 2020, the project began to be implemented with the joint efforts and consensus of hundreds of households.
Bang Bo village, Cao Thang commune has over 100 households with about 3,000 m2 of land that must be recovered to implement the project. This is the starting point of the route, so the site clearance will take place soonest. According to Ms. Do Thi Duom, Party Cell Secretary and Head of Bang Bo village, realizing the importance of the project, the village has actively implemented propaganda and mobilization work for the people. With high consensus and unity, in just 2 weeks, more than 100 households have voluntarily donated land, moved surrounding walls, gate pillars, and auxiliary works...
The enthusiastic support of the people of Bang Bo village has become a great source of encouragement for other localities. The movement to donate land to expand the road took place with great enthusiasm along the entire route with over 300 households participating. In early 2022, the Cao Thang - Tien Phong route was officially put into use, 1 month earlier than planned.
In the 2022-2024 period, Thanh Mien district invested more than 95 billion VND to upgrade and renovate 7.8 km of district road 195. Determining that site clearance is a prerequisite for the project to ensure progress, Thanh Mien district has actively mobilized, propagated, and disseminated land policies and laws, and the significance of the project to households whose land was recovered. Difficulties and problems during the implementation process were promptly received and resolved by the district, contributing to strengthening people's trust. Therefore, although there was no compensation or support for site clearance, in phase 1 of the project, 183 households voluntarily donated land to build roads with a total area of 8,730 m2. Of which, 390 m2 was residential land, the rest was agricultural land.
The project to upgrade and renovate District Road 195 is currently entering phase 2 with a length of about 4.5 km. Up to now, the site clearance work has been basically completed. The construction unit has implemented 85% of the work volume, ensuring the set progress. This includes the consensus and support of nearly 140 households in Le Hong, Doan Ket and Hong Quang communes. In particular, Mr. Nguyen Van Nua, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Thu Phap village, Doan Ket commune, exchanged nearly 700 m2 of agricultural land for Mr. NVH's family. Mr. Nua handed over the entire area to the commune government to implement the project phase 2.
Double effect
Ngo Quyen commune has district road 195 and Binh Xuyen - Ngo Quyen - Tan Trao road passing through. Both of these roads have been degraded for a long time, causing difficulties for travel and trade of goods. To motivate Ngo Quyen to develop, in 2022, Thanh Mien simultaneously upgraded and renovated the above two roads with a total investment of more than 100 billion VND. With the motto "The State and the people work together", Ngo Quyen commune mobilized the entire political system to participate. 178 households within the project area were mobilized to donate land and expand the road.
"Most households are aware of the role and importance of the project and wholeheartedly support it. Some households even voluntarily dismantled valuable structures so that the project can be implemented on schedule. Since the upgrading and renovation of District Road 195 and Binh Xuyen - Ngo Quyen - Tan Trao, many economic development opportunities have been opened up for the people in the commune. The new rural appearance in Ngo Quyen is increasingly spacious and clean," said a representative of the leader of Ngo Quyen commune.
From 2020 to present, Thanh Mien district has implemented many key traffic projects with "0 VND" site clearance costs. Typical examples include the project to upgrade and renovate Cao Thang - Tien Phong, Binh Xuyen - Ngo Quyen - Tan Trao roads, district road 195, Hong Phong commune axis road (connecting from provincial road 392B to Cao Thang - Tien Phong district road). These projects are important in strengthening regional connectivity and gradually completing the planned traffic network. In addition, they help reduce the load on key traffic routes, curb traffic accidents, and create momentum for socio-economic development in localities.
"The people's cooperation and consensus have contributed to speeding up the project's progress, especially saving costs for the local budget. This is a premise to help the district balance and allocate capital harmoniously between projects and fields, ensuring synchronous and effective investment. Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Thanh Mien District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term," said Mr. Nguyen The Tai, Chairman of the Thanh Mien District People's Committee.
