Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee was elected to hold the position of Provincial Party Secretary for the 2020-2025 term.
On December 1, Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee held a meeting of the Provincial Party Executive Committee to introduce and elect the position of Provincial Party Secretary.
Specifically, 45/46 members of the Provincial Party Committee attended the Conference. At the Conference, 100% of the attendees unanimously elected Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province , to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Previously, on November 2, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, was dismissed by the Politburo from the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and from holding the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
At the same time, mobilize, assign and appoint Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
On November 5, the Standing Committee of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference of key officials to carry out the process of introducing personnel and perfecting the position of Provincial Party Secretary for the 2020-2025 term.
For the position of Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, the Politburo advocates that the province be strengthened from local human resources in the planning.
Mr. Dong Van Thanh, born on June 24, 1969, hometown Phong Dien district, Can Tho city; Professional qualification: Bachelor of Sociology, political qualification: Senior.
In 2004 (the time of separation of Hau Giang province and Can Tho city), Mr. Dong Van Thanh held the position of Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh A district People's Committee.
In June 2007, Mr. Dong Van Thanh was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of Office of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee and in May 2011, he was appointed to the position of Chief of Office of the Provincial Party Committee.
In August 2014, at the 9th session of the 8th term of the People's Council of Hau Giang province, Mr. Dong Van Thanh was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term. In October 2015, he was appointed to hold the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province.
In October 2020, at the 18th session of the 9th term People's Council of Hau Giang province, term 2016-2021, Mr. Dong Van Thanh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
