Many expressed surprise that Vietnam was not included in the list, despite the fact that coffee is a popular drink that can be found everywhere, from low-end to high-end shops, from rural to urban areas. Vietnam is also famous for its creative coffee drinks, such as egg coffee or salt coffee, which have been praised by tourists and international media.

The list of the 100 best coffee shops in the world includes many shops in leading coffee producing countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Peru, Mexico... Meanwhile, Vietnam is the second largest coffee producing country, after Brazil; these two countries account for 55% of the world's coffee market share. In 2024, Vietnam's coffee export turnover reached 5.48 billion USD, an increase of 29.11% compared to the previous year.
