On the afternoon of February 22, on the occasion of attending the Meeting between the three leaders of the three parties of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in Ho Chi Minh City, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to thoroughly grasp the contents of the agreement in the Conclusion of the Meeting between the three leaders of the three parties.
Previously, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam had a high-level meeting with President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.
The three leaders of the three parties discussed the recent world and regional situation, shared the situation of each party and each country in the past year, assessed the results and proposed directions for cooperation between the three parties and three countries in the coming time.
At the meeting between the three Prime Ministers, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reviewed the results achieved in the implementation of the conclusions of the Vietnam-Laos, Vietnam-Cambodia, and Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Summits and the visits of the three countries' senior leaders in recent times; agreed that the assigned tasks have been basically completed well so far.
The three Prime Ministers expressed their delight that the cooperation between the three countries has always been promoted by the high-ranking leaders, ministries, branches and localities of the three countries, and is making strong progress, contributing practically to consolidating and nurturing the increasingly developing cooperation between the three countries. The leaders emphasized the strategic importance of the close friendship, solidarity and mutual trust between the three countries, and agreed to continue to strengthen exchanges and training of youth and young leaders, and promote extensive propaganda to all classes of people of the three countries, especially the young generation, about the significance and historical value of the cooperative relationship between the three countries.
The three Prime Ministers affirmed to continue to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the three countries in ensuring national security, building and developing the country; maintain regular high-level meetings and contacts on all channels, increase cooperation between localities, especially provinces sharing borders, and people-to-people exchanges; effectively implement cooperation mechanisms and agreements, enhance information sharing, viewpoints and cooperation between ministries and branches.
The leaders agreed to continue to strengthen security and defense cooperation, closely coordinate to protect border security, prevent and combat transnational crimes such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering; uphold the principle of not allowing any individual or force to use the territory of one country to harm the security of the other country, and join hands to build a border of peace, friendship, stability and development.
The three Prime Ministers also agreed to continue to have policies and measures to facilitate and further encourage trade and investment, focusing on border trade and promoting the land border gate system between the three countries; strengthening transport infrastructure connectivity and economic linkages between the three countries.
The three Prime Ministers welcomed and agreed to establish a cooperation mechanism between the three Ministers of Culture and Tourism to unify the tourism cooperation plan between the three countries and implement the "One journey, three destinations" tourism model. The leaders also discussed regional issues of common concern; agreed to coordinate to maintain solidarity, stance, and ASEAN's central role in regional issues; as well as promote Mekong sub-regional cooperation./.
