The Politburo approved Mr. Dong Van Thanh to hold the position of Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee.

On the afternoon of December 12, in Hau Giang province, a conference was held to announce the Politburo's Decision on personnel work.

At the Conference, Mr. Le Minh Hung - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission presented the Politburo's Decision approving Mr. Dong Van Thanh - Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee to hold the position of Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

Mr. Le Minh Hung - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee presented the decision to Mr. Dong Van Thanh.

Speaking at the assignment of tasks to the new Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee Le Minh Hung emphasized that Mr. Dong Van Thanh is assessed by the Politburo as a capable, experienced cadre with a scientific working method, closely following the grassroots and the organization. In his work, Mr. Dong Van Thanh always completes his tasks well and excellently, making important contributions to the overall achievements and results of the locality and the agency where he works.

Mr. Le Minh Hung suggested that in his capacity as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Dong Van Thanh and the Standing Committee review the targets and objectives set out in the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress for the 2021-2025 term. In the immediate future, focus on implementing the Hau Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 and the Mekong Delta Planning for the period 2021-2023 with a vision to 2050. Promote the province's potential advantages, strongly shift the economic structure, and improve the investment environment.

Along with that, speed up the implementation of expressway projects through the province, prepare investment procedures, expressway connection projects to promote economic corridors to develop synchronously with other infrastructures.

Mr. Dong Van Thanh gave a speech accepting the assignment.

In his acceptance speech, the new Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee expressed his gratitude to General Secretary To Lam, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Organizing Committee and central agencies for their attention and trust in assigning him this important task.

Mr. Dong Van Thanh said that this is an important milestone, an honor, and at the same time, a very heavy responsibility assigned by the Party Committee, the government and the people of the province.
