Clean fish from Da River - 3-star OCOP product in Tien Phong commune

Da Giang Eco Cooperative is a clean fish farming and processing facility established in early 2023 with over 40 fish cages. With a scale of 10 members and over 100 "satellite" farming households, it has created an abundant supply for restaurants and hotels. Since its establishment, the Cooperative has supplied nearly 15 tons of fish for consumption in the locality and neighboring areas. Mr. Xa Ngoc Hung, Director of Da Giang Eco Cooperative, shared: "Tien Phong is a locality that converges all the factors to successfully develop cage fish farming. With advantages in terms of water surface area, clean water source and abundant food, Da Giang Eco Cooperative has applied fish farming according to disease prevention processes and standards. Actively monitor the growth process of livestock, while preventing and controlling diseases. During the farming process, cooperative members focus on researching and applying scientific and technical advances to improve product quality, creating trust with customers".

Black catfish, black grass carp and catfish are OCOP products of Da Giang Eco Cooperative that have affirmed their brand and quality in the consumer market. The prices of the products are suitable, convenient for preliminary processing and making suitable dishes for family meals. Accordingly, black catfish and black grass carp products after preliminary processing have a stable price of 180,000 - 200,000 VND/kg. All products are raised by households for about 18 months before being sold. Along with promoting the development of products that meet 3-star OCOP standards, Da Giang Eco Cooperative continues to expand the consumer market with many designs and products processed from Da River fish. Accordingly, the products are preliminary processed, deeply processed and packaged for sale at many stores and supermarkets in major cities and neighboring areas. Some typical products such as fried shrimp fish, braised fish... have a characteristic flavor that is loved by customers.

Tien Phong Commune has 5/7 hamlets adjacent to the Song Da reservoir. Exploiting the potential of rich and diverse aquatic resources, the Party Committee and the commune government have increased propaganda and mobilized people to develop cage fish farming. The whole commune currently has over 300 aquaculture households, of which 10 households raise fish in large-scale cages with concentrated production. Typical examples are the households of Le Dinh Hoi (Tup Hamlet) and Dinh Van Lam (Squid Hamlet). Some main fish breeds are widely raised and favored by the market such as grass carp, tilapia, black catfish, etc. Realizing the effectiveness of cage fish farming, many households have changed their occupations to improve their income. Proactively accessing preferential capital to invest in buying breeds and expanding the fish cage system. Since then, workers have been provided with stable income.

Comrade Bui Van Anh, Vice Chairman of Tien Phong Commune People's Committee affirmed: With majestic natural landscapes and rich and diverse aquatic resources... clean fish products of Da River certified to meet 3-star OCOP standards are the premise for the locality to continue to develop typical agricultural products. In the coming time, the Party Committee and the commune government will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people to raise fish in cages according to the correct process, ensuring the criteria to improve product quality. Focus on expanding the consumption market, increasing product value. Diversify products processed from clean fish of Da River to serve customers. Thereby affirming the brand of clean fish of Da River associated with the development of community tourism, contributing to the successful implementation of the tasks and targets of socio-economic development set out".
