On the morning of August 18, a representative of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Dong Anh District Police (Hanoi) said that the unit had extinguished a fire that broke out at a warehouse storing sanitary equipment in Viet Hung Commune at 2:30 a.m. the same day.
Residents living in Duc Noi village, Viet Hung commune discovered smoke and fire coming from a warehouse in the area, so they quickly notified the local fire fighting force, the local police and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Dong Anh district police.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi City Police mobilized forces from Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Soc Son districts and the Fire Fighting and Rescue Center of Region 3 to the scene, but because the warehouse contained many flammable materials and the fire could spread quickly, the initial firefighting work encountered many difficulties. The functional forces had to pump water from the pond area in the neighboring area.
After about 2 hours of trying to put out the fire, the authorities were able to control the fire. There were no casualties reported.
Dong Anh District Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
