Fire in 5 houses adjacent to the busiest market in Vinh Phuc: Using crowbars and forklifts to break down doors

A fire broke out overnight, destroying many goods and properties in a busy commercial street in Tho Tang town, Vinh Tuong district (Vinh Phuc).

On the afternoon of March 1, VietNamNet reporters recorded at the scene of the fire in Bac Cuong residential group, Tho Tang town, functional forces and fire fighting vehicles of Vinh Phuc province were still blocking off the area.

The scene of the fire was 5 adjacent houses, divided into 2 main areas. In front is the area of shops and solidly built houses. Connected to the back are warehouses built with corrugated iron roofs and steel frames.

At the warehouse area, many goods were almost completely burned. Notably, the location of the fire was only about 50m from the gas station in the area.

The family of Mrs. Vu Thi Cham was one of the households that suffered heavy losses after the fire. Mrs. Cham’s furniture warehouse was almost completely burned down.

Ms. Cham said the fire started in a plastic and nylon warehouse one house away from her furniture warehouse. However, no one in the neighbor's family was home.

When the fire broke out, Ms. Cham’s two children and the surrounding people used crowbars and forklifts to break down the fire door. Although everyone tried to put out the fire, the fire was too big to control and spread to the neighboring warehouses.

“We were helpless as our goods burned. Luckily for everyone, there were no casualties,” said Ms. Cham.

Mr. Vu Duc Kim, Secretary of the Tho Tang Town Party Committee, said that after about 2 hours of the fire, the fire brigade had controlled the fire. The fire affected the property and goods of 5 households and the authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
