Honor and affirm the value of women

For Vietnamese women, March 8 is also an occasion to commemorate the Hai Ba Trung uprising - a heroic and rare event in the history of the nation and humanity. The uprising marked the first milestone in the history of the nation's resistance against foreign invaders, demonstrating the great ability of Vietnamese women.

Women in the capital account for 50.4% of the population, contributing nearly half of the city's workforce. In any industry or field, the majority of women always promote the tradition of "Three Responsibilities", the talented and elegant features of Hanoi women, unite to help each other progress, enthusiastically participate in emulation movements, build the capital's women who are Loyal - Creative - Responsibilities - Elegant, the campaign to build a family of "5 no, 3 clean", "Capital women behave beautifully", "Good at public affairs, good at housework", the start-up movement, creative initiatives, contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional culture of Thang Long - Hanoi, a thousand-year-old culture and heroism.

Nearly 1,000 delegates and athletes participated in the first "Healthy and Beautiful Capital Women" Walking Race in 2024.

On the occasion of the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day, March 8, and the 1984 anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising, the Women's Union at all levels organized many exciting activities with practical significance for women. Many events contributed to spreading the spirit of Vietnamese Ao Dai, promoting and honoring the traditional cultural values of Vietnam to the community, and at the same time contributing to promoting and encouraging women of all classes to exercise and improve their physical fitness for a healthy, prosperous and happy society.

Cau Giay District Women's Union opened the event "Scents of March - Quintessence of Cau Giay" in 2024. Chairwoman of Cau Giay District Women's Union Nguyen Kim Le said that the event "Scents of March - Quintessence of Cau Giay" in 2024 is a series of meaningful activities contributing to the colorful flower garden of Cau Giay District women towards the major anniversaries in 2024. At the event, many activities took place such as: Launching Ao Dai Week 2024; Ao Dai Festival walking for the environment; Awarding the contest "Charming Ao Dai through photos" in 2024; 1,000-person folk dance performance; Displaying Vietnamese Ao Dai products and beauty and health care products for women...

For many days now, the welcoming activities have been taking place enthusiastically throughout Cau Giay district with a variety of contents such as cultural and artistic activities, sports, culinary cultural activities, propaganda on implementing behavioral culture, humanitarian and charitable activities, social security, tree planting to protect the environment, the "Charming Ao Dai through photos" contest, traditional education activities at relics and scenic spots... have attracted a large number of cadres, members and women in the area to actively participate, enhancing the spirit of solidarity and cultural life at the grassroots level.

In Hoang Mai district, more than 500 cadres and women's union members enthusiastically organized the "Spring Dance" gala with many special performances, creating connection, exchange, and learning experiences in developing cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movements in the locality.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hoang Mai District Nguyen Le Hang hopes that the "Spring Dance" gala will contribute to spreading the traditional cultural beauty of women in the capital; Arouse pride in the revolutionary struggle tradition of Vietnamese women and spread the cultural, artistic and sports movements at all levels of the Hoang Mai Women's Union.

On this occasion, the Women's Union of Hoang Mai district also organized a visit to the traditional activities at the Co Loa historical site, Dong Anh district; responded to the "Ao Dai Week", encouraged female members to wear Ao Dai at work and participate in events. Developed "Honorary members" in the district.

Responding to the Tree Planting Festival, the Women's Union of Hoan Kiem District coordinated with the People's Committee of Phuc Tan Ward to launch the "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" at the Forest Garden, in Phuc Tan Ward, Hoan Kiem District.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hoan Kiem District Trinh Thi Hue said that in 2023, Hoan Kiem District will continue to survey the conditions, environment, and society in the coastal area of Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan wards; implement the Community-based Environmental Management Project in Phuc Tan Ward, this is a large project that will renovate 5,000m2 of landfill into a forest garden and playground... Up to now, the initial results of the Project are gradually being completed, this is the effort of the cadres, people of Phuc Tan Ward and the units participating in the project.

On this occasion, the Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Phuc Tan Ward to plant 38 new trees (including purple Royal Poinciana, Lagerstroemia, Cassia fistula, red-orange So, yellow Phong Linh...) and hundreds of flowers in the forest garden area, contributing to reducing environmental pollution; ensuring health and environmental landscape, improving the quality of life, and preventing encroachment on the banks.

The President of the Women's Union of Hoan Kiem District hopes that the People's Committee of the ward, socio-political organizations, departments, branches, unions of the ward and cadres, people, women's union members of residential groups in Phuc Tan Ward will continue to widely propagate in many forms to a large number of cadres, women's union members and people about the purpose and meaning of the Tree Planting Festival, about the role, great effects, comprehensive and long-term benefits, and humanistic values of tree planting; at the same time, request the Women's Unions at the grassroots level to actively participate in the contest "Road/street/blossom mural" and propose to local authorities to plant trees and flowers suitable to the conditions of the locality, agency, unit, ensuring practicality, efficiency, savings, and avoiding ostentation.
