Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway congested after collision

According to information from Team 3, Room 08, Traffic Police Department, on the morning of February 11, due to a traffic collision on the Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway, from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, combined with the heavy traffic volume on the route, local congestion occurred.

Traffic police have resolved the collision and cleared the road. Currently, the impact is only in the Thuong Tin area.

The amount of traffic passing through here started to increase from 1:00 p.m. today. At 1:30 p.m., realizing that the number of vehicles was increasing, converging at Phap Van intersection, causing a risk of local congestion and affecting the entire highway, the traffic police decided to open a parallel road for vehicles to enter, helping to reduce the load at the intersection.

"We also arranged for personnel to stand by and guide vehicles along the service road continuously from noon until tonight," the traffic police officer informed.

A driver traveling from Hanoi to Nam Dinh shared that he and his family went to his wife's hometown to celebrate Tet. He had been traveling from 10:30 a.m. until early afternoon and still had not gotten off the highway. Today was only the second day of Tet but the traffic was heavy, driving slowly, and many sections required him to stop and wait.

The leader of BOT Phap Van - Cau Gie Joint Stock Company said that compared to previous years, this year on the second day of Tet, the traffic volume on Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway increased dramatically. When there was a local congestion, toll stations opened additional barriers to allow vehicles to pass.
