On March 21, the 13th People's Council of Binh Dinh province, term 2021 - 2026, held the 22nd session (14th thematic session) to consider and decide on a number of important contents according to its authority.
Commencement of many important transport projects
At this meeting, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, assessed that the socio-economic situation in the first 3 months of the year of the province had many positive signs, many industries grew well. In which, the most noticeable is tourism. Recently, the number of tourists to Binh Dinh, including international visitors, increased compared to the same period.
Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that many important traffic projects will be implemented in 2025.
However, there are many issues that need to be considered to meet the travel needs of tourists to Binh Dinh. In particular, tourists traveling to Binh Dinh by air are "selling out". The province must coordinate with the railway industry to increase the number of trains to Binh Dinh. Some of these trains are free for tourists returning to the province from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Nha Trang.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee also informed that the province is making efforts every day, coordinating with the Government, Ministries and branches to implement key transport projects, meeting the travel needs of people and the development of the province.
The Phu Cat Airport Runway 2 project is in the process of implementing procedures, striving to start construction in August 2025 and basically complete after 10 months. Efforts are being made to complete Runway 2 by June 2026.
At that time, it will help solve many problems. The runway will help planes take off and land, bringing domestic and international people to Binh Dinh.
The North-South Expressway through Binh Dinh is being rushed to the finish line by the end of this year.
In addition, the Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway Project is also of particular interest. Mr. Tuan shared that he has just worked with the Ministry of Construction on this project.
"The province wants to start construction of the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway on September 2 this year, but it is very difficult because there are still some procedures. Currently, the Ministry of Construction is preparing the procedures to submit to the National Assembly for consideration, and will try to start construction this year. The Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway must be implemented at lightning speed to complete the length of nearly 140km within 2 - 3 years," said Mr. Tuan.
Binh Dinh province is also accelerating the implementation of projects on transport infrastructure, health care, education, etc. It is expected that 20 projects in the 2026-2030 period will start construction this year. These are key projects to create transport connectivity and ensure people's well-being.
"Even if there is one more day, I must contribute for Binh Dinh"
At this session, an issue that the leaders of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province are concerned about is the need to carry out two extremely important tasks at the same time. The first is to accelerate the implementation of socio-economic development tasks to develop the economy at a double-digit rate with the whole country in the period of 2026 - 2030, and in 2025 alone, the growth rate must be over 8.5% as assigned by the Government's Resolution.
Second, we must carry out the second phase of the revolution to streamline the political apparatus in accordance with the direction of the Central Government, and build a two-level local government (province and commune).
Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung speaks at the meeting.
The Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee was excited because phase 1 of the restructuring revolution (restructuring the province's professional agencies) had been completed well, and the Politburo's inspection team highly appreciated his initiative and approach.
Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung requested all levels, sectors and localities to focus on organizing and implementing two tasks in parallel with a proactive, creative, resolute and synchronous spirit.
"At the same time, we are doing two extremely difficult tasks in parallel, in conditions of running, queuing, working, and learning from experience. Therefore, it requires efforts from all levels and sectors, and the support and consensus of the people," said Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung.
The Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee said that streamlining and reorganizing the apparatus will select officials with enough virtue, talent, capacity and ability to carry out tasks.
"Of course, in this revolution, there are still many people with thoughts and opinions, but we must be united and comply with policies for the common development of the country. Whether we are still working or not working, working from a high position to a lower position, we must accept it, not just think and refuse to do it, to delay the work. As long as there is one day left, we will still contribute, still work, and always be proud of what we have contributed to our homeland Binh Dinh," Mr. Dung expressed.
Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung also requested to focus on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people and policy beneficiaries with the spirit of completing it early in May.
"There are more than 4,700 houses in the area, more than 3,700 have been completed so far, with less than 1,000 remaining. For localities that have not yet implemented the project, it must be implemented immediately. Currently, some people are wavering, thinking that if the project is reorganized in the future, will they still do it or not? I suggest that it must be done in the spirit of revolution, even if there is still one day left, we must work, complete the task, solve social security for the people, for the people," Mr. Dung requested.
