Mr. Vu Manh Thang, a worker at Lao Cai Iron and Steel Factory, shared: “We are very excited and happy to be called back to work at the factory, to have a salary to support ourselves and our daily lives. The job has been with us for nearly 10 years, so starting again is very simple.”
Previously, the factory organized single and interlock operations to calibrate the machinery to meet the standards. The electrical system was repaired to ensure stable supply. In addition, the company also proactively imported 10,000 tons of coke from China via Hai Phong port. The factories were repaired and renovated to serve as a place to gather raw materials.

The company also has a very clear plan during the equipment testing process, smooth operation".
Regarding raw materials, the factory will initially use 30,000 tons of ore stockpiled at the factory and 194,000 tons of ore at Quy Xa Iron Mine. With this ore source, production is expected to last for 4-5 months. During this time, the factory will continue to complete the mine closure procedures to grant mining rights.

It is expected that the factory will start firing the blast furnace at the end of March. The resumption of Lao Cai Iron and Steel Factory after nearly 3 years of suspension will not only create jobs for over 1,000 workers but also help Lao Cai reach the target of 60,000 billion VND in industrial production value this year, contributing to increasing the State budget revenue.
