How to auto rotate screen
Switching back and forth between screen freeze and auto-rotate when using different apps can be annoying. Instead, you can set your phone to auto-rotate for specific apps.
1. Using settings on Samsung phone
Samsung offers Modes and Routines on phones running One UI 5 and above, which allows you to automate phone settings based on different scenarios, including setting hours.
You can use Routines to automatically rotate the screen orientation for specific apps on your Galaxy phone. Go to Settings, select Modes and Routines. Then, go to the Routines tab and tap the + button at the top. Tap Add what will trigger this routine under If.
On the next screen, tap the search bar, search for App opened. Then, select all the apps that you want to auto-rotate the screen for and tap Done to add the action to the routine.
Next, tap Add what this routine will do under Then. Search for Screen orientation, select the Auto rotate option on the screen. Tap Done and Save.
2. In-app on other Android phones
If you're using a non-Samsung phone, like a Pixel or OnePlus, you can use a third-party automation app to rotate the screen in specific apps. Popular examples include MacroDroid, Rotation Control, or Rotation Manager.
The procedure for installing and using these applications is similar to the following:
-Download the application and install;
- Open the application, select add new task;
- Select the applications you want to set to auto-rotate;
- Press OK;
How to disable Android screen rotation
To disable the automatic screen rotation function, follow these steps:
- Disable from status bar: Drag the slider from top to bottom on the phone's home screen. Then, gently tap the "Turn off rotation" icon to disable.
- Turn off screen rotation from Settings: Select Settings > Select Display > Select Auto-rotate screen to disable screen rotation.
