The event not only spreads the spirit of green living but also encourages the community to take practical actions to save energy, protect the environment and move towards sustainable development. Not only an annual environmental event, Earth Hour 2025 has become a community festival, where the spirit of green living is strongly spread and awareness of sustainable energy transition is significantly raised.

The highlight of the event came from the space filled with excitement and liveliness with a series of diverse interactive activities, including a creative check-in space, where a model of a balcony of an old house in Hanoi was displayed, integrated with a solar power system. This image is not only symbolic but also conveys a strong message about the application of renewable energy in daily life.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Vu Chi Mai - Director of CASE Project in Vietnam, under the GIZ Energy Support Programme (GIZ ESP), emphasized: “Through a series of inspirational activities on 'Green Transition - Green Future', we hope that every individual and organization will join hands to act for a sustainable future. Sharing about the locality's efforts in saving energy, Ms. Le Anh Thu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, said that in 2024, Hoan Kiem District saved 15.4 million kW of electricity. In 2025, we aim to cut another 2.2% of electricity consumption. Although the number is modest, it is a testament to the responsibility and desire to spread green living to every neighborhood. Hopefully, this event will inspire everyone to act together for a greener Hanoi, a greener Vietnam and a healthier Earth.

Representative of Vietnam Electricity Group, Mr. Tran Viet Nguyen - Deputy Head of Business Department said: By taking specific daily actions through using electricity economically and effectively, we will contribute to ensuring the safety and security of the power system, especially during the peak summer (from May to July) in the Northern region when the power supply is still facing difficulties. "In Hanoi, we hope that people and electricity customers will pay attention to implementing solutions to save electricity, especially during the time frame from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day. Together, let's change our electricity usage behavior to contribute to building a green and sustainable future" - Mr. Tran Viet Nguyen suggested.
