Today, March 25, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, Ha Sy Dong, signed and issued a plan to support the development of agricultural production in the Chieng Tup village cluster, Se Pon district, Savannakhet province (Laos) in 2025.

Accordingly, the plan aims to research and build pilot models of cultivation and livestock breeding to create models for households in the Chieng Tup village cluster to visit, learn and follow, and at the same time train and improve the scientific and technical capacity of typical farmers to help transfer and replicate production models in the Chieng Tup village cluster.
Specifically, strive to build 3 - 5 hectares of rice production models (including regular rice and sticky rice) and 1 - 2 hectares of waxy corn and hybrid corn production models using new varieties with high productivity and quality suitable for the natural conditions and cultivation of the people of Chieng Tup village cluster. There are at least 9 cow farming models (2 cows/model); 9 goat farming models (5 goats/model); 9 black duck farming models (30 ducks/model) for households in 3 villages Na, Coc, Sup Sa lu.
Along with that, training, capacity building and selecting at least 6 key farmers to help transfer agricultural production techniques to households in the cluster. Organizing a conference to summarize and evaluate the support results in 2025 and develop a cooperation and support plan between the two provinces for the period 2026 - 2030.
To achieve the set goals, Quang Tri province will organize technical training for households participating in the model and support seeds and materials to build a number of crop models: applying new techniques in rice cultivation (using new varieties of rice and glutinous rice); growing hybrid corn and glutinous corn.
Provide technical training to households participating in the model and support breeding animals, feed, veterinary medicine to build a number of livestock demonstration models such as: goose, cow or goat farming models combined with grass growing, processing and storing feed for livestock.
Send technical staff (experts) for at least 8 months to guide and direct the implementation of the models. Train and improve the capacity of key farming households. The beneficiaries are households proposed by the Savannakhet Provincial Government Committee in Coc, Na and Sup Sa Lu villages in the Chieng Tup village cluster.
Implementation period from April to December 2025. Funding from the provincial budget, integrating programs, projects, plans and other legal sources mobilized from organizations and individuals according to the provisions of the State Budget Law and related laws.
