Organizing the Youth Photography Festival in 2025

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision No. 762/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the Youth Photography Festival in 2025. This is an opportunity for young photography enthusiasts across the country to exchange, learn, meet, introduce creative achievements, and supplement the next generation of Vietnamese photography; contributing to introducing and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to domestic and international audiences.

In addition, the 2025 Youth Photography Festival contributes to encouraging the interest, connection and participation of young people in the art of photography in particular and social issues in general; helping management agencies and the photography industry have an overview and correctly assess the current situation of young photographers and issues of photo creation among young people in recent times. From there, find the right direction for development and direction for young people who love photography in the period of international integration.

The 2025 Young Photography Festival is chaired by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies and units. The launching ceremony is expected to take place in early April 2025; the opening and awarding ceremony will be held in late August 2025 in Hanoi.

According to the plan, the Organizing Committee will select about 160 works submitted by young authors to attend the Festival to organize an exhibition, of which about 17 excellent works will be selected to award prizes; encourage new compositions with a youthful style, carrying the breath of contemporary, modern, dynamic life.

The organizers said that all Vietnamese citizens aged 18-35 (including Vietnamese people living and working abroad) can submit entries.

The categories participating in the Festival include: Realistic photography and conceptual photography. In which, the realistic photography category has the theme “The era of national rise”. The content reflects contemporary life, people, culture, landscapes, nature, the construction and protection of the Vietnamese Fatherland. The Organizing Committee encourages works on the theme of Vietnam rising and developing.

Conceptual photography genre with content reflecting issues that young people are interested in; thoughts, opinions, ideas about life...; and content that focuses on the values ​​of truth, goodness, beauty...

It is expected that 17 awards will be given, including 2 Gold Medals; 3 Silver Medals; 5 Bronze Medals; 7 Encouragement Prizes.
