With the desire to contribute to promoting the milestones and heroic memories, the great historical significance of the Capital Liberation Day, the achievements that Hanoi has achieved in the past 70 years, on October 10, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a postage stamp set "Welcoming the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024" .

Including 1 stamp size 32 x 43mm and 1 stamp block size 100 x 80mm, the 8th postage stamp set on the theme of commemorating the Capital Liberation Day has a total face value of 19,000 VND, and is available on the postal network from October 10, 2024 to June 30, 2026.

The stamp set was designed by artist Nguyen Quang Vinh in a graphic style, recreating the heroic past to the peaceful and dynamic future of the capital Hanoi through concise and refined images.

The main image chosen to be shown on the stamp is the symbol of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital, with the stamp background being the image of the victorious army returning to take over the Capital, the people joyfully welcoming them, and the image of a dove - the symbol of the city for peace.

The stamp block design shows historical footage recording the heroic spirit of liberation day and the image of Hanoi after 70 years of construction, integration and development.

The stamp block background is an image of preserved historical relics, along with modern high-rise buildings symbolizing the harmonious interweaving of ancient cultural values ​​with the development of Hanoi today.

Images of Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the symbol of a flying dragon were also selected to be included in the stamp block commemorating the Capital Liberation Day this time.

In particular, Thang Long Imperial Citadel is a historical witness to the struggles for independence of the Vietnamese people, a place that preserves the cultural and historical values ​​of the entire nation; the symbol of the flying dragon is the embodiment of "The sacred land and soul of Thang Long".

The stamps in the block show Hanoi citizens living in the atmosphere of celebrating the Capital Liberation Day. The image of Khue Van Cac (Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam) - the first university of Vietnam was chosen as the official symbol of the Capital in 1997, in the stamps in the block means that this place represents intelligence, while emphasizing the truth engraved on the stele of the Temple of Literature "Talent is the vital energy of the nation".

Previously, according to the Postage Stamp Department of Vietnam Post Corporation, 7 sets of stamps celebrating the Liberation Day of the Capital were issued, thereby helping people recall heroic historical memories and introduce the achievements that Hanoi has achieved in the construction and development process through each period.

Specifically, the first set of Vietnamese postage stamps on the theme of the liberation of the Capital was issued on January 1, 1955, including 3 stamp designs. Subsequently, on the occasions of the 10th, 15th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th anniversaries of the Liberation of the Capital, Vietnam Post issued a set of stamps to mark this important historical event.

70th Anniversary of Capital Liberation Day: Experience Hanoi through 3D imaging technology From October 9 to October 13, Nhan Dan Newspaper organizes the Hanoi Flagpole Interactive Exhibition at the newspaper headquarters - 71 Hang Trong. Technology-loving visitors can use virtual reality glasses to view 3D images of Hanoi.
