At the press conference of the Ministry of Information and Communications on March 6, answering reporters' questions about whether Facebook's downtime would affect Vietnam, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security Tran Quang Hung said: " Facebook's downtime is also a good sign, not because Vietnam already has a social network to share information, but more importantly, after the incident, users of this cross-border social network will be surprised to know whether they are victims of hackers or not.
At the same time, people are more aware of changing their passwords; creating two-step security to prevent. Therefore, Facebook's network outage, from another perspective, brings positive value to Vietnamese users.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security warned that many users today depend heavily on social networking platforms. If they do not have/do not use account security measures, most of them will lose their accounts.
