Assigning the task to the new Principal of Hanoi Private Secondary School for Deaf and Mute Children, Chairman of Hanoi Red Cross Association Le Tu Luc affirmed the attention of the Association's leaders on supporting and creating the best conditions within the Association's authority for disabled students to continue studying and participating in social activities. This task is also closely linked to the Association's general task, which is the responsibility to care for children in difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Hanoi Red Cross Association hopes that more businesses and philanthropists will join in supporting disadvantaged disabled children.

Taking on the new assignment, the new Principal of Hanoi Private Secondary School for Deaf and Mute Children, Ta Ngoc Anh, said that the school will work together to focus on taking care of disabled children in difficult circumstances so they can continue to go to school.

In the immediate future, Mr. Ta Ngoc Anh directed teachers and school workers to carry out their work well, so that the school can resume operations from March 25, 2025. The school also proposed that the City Red Cross Association support teachers' salaries and electricity and water costs incurred during operations (taken from the Association's Humanitarian Fund).

In addition, the school plans to promote and mobilize funding to support students and teachers from parents, organizations, and philanthropists in the city.

Hanoi Private Secondary School for Deaf Children (39 Hoang Ngan Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) was established by Hanoi People's Committee under Decision No. 6345/QD-UB dated September 18, 1990, under the management of Hanoi Red Cross Society. Up to now, after 35 years of operation, the School has performed well the tasks of teaching deaf and hearing-impaired children, restoring hearing and speaking functions for deaf children, early intervention, language therapy for children with language disabilities, and vocational training for children in difficult circumstances in the city.

The announcement that the school will continue to open its doors to welcome disabled students to school, without interrupting their learning, brings joy to the school's staff, teachers, employees, parents and students.
The announcement to continue to open the school to welcome disabled students to school, without interrupting their learning, brings joy to the school's staff, teachers, employees, parents and students.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi Private Secondary School for Deaf and Mute Children has 84 students (from 5 to 38 years old) studying in pre-primary classes (28 students), 59 primary school students divided into 6 classes and 1 life skills class.

Most of the students have hearing impairments, autism, and multiple disabilities. The school has 20 staff and teachers, including 2 teachers with disabilities (deafness, motor impairment); 3 deaf students of the school are retained as staff in the Vocational Guidance Department.

Recently, due to some difficulties in perfecting the management staff, operating costs and some other reasons, this specialized school has sent a notice to parents, Hanoi Red Cross Association, and Vietnam Red Cross Association that the school is forced to stop operating.

This makes families of disabled students worry about the impact on their children's learning. Many disabled students have difficulty communicating and moving when forced to suddenly change their learning environment. Many parents have had to quit their jobs to stay home to look after their children, significantly affecting their income and the stability of their family life.

Faced with that reality, along with the completion of the school principal position, the announcement to continue to open the school to welcome disabled students to school, without interrupting their learning, brings joy to the school's staff, teachers, employees, parents and students.
