Students and parents in Ho Chi Minh City breathe a sigh of relief

The Ministry of Education and Training announced that the 2025 High School Graduation Exam schedule will remain the same. Students and parents in Ho Chi Minh City can rest assured and not worry about the exam being held nearly 3 weeks early.

Previously, many parents and students in Ho Chi Minh City expressed their concerns when the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training proposed to organize the exam nearly 3 weeks earlier than expected. Especially, in the context that students have just started to stabilize after changes from Circular 29 on the ban on extra teaching and learning.

Specifically, regarding the reason for the proposal to organize the 2025 High School Graduation Exam from June 7-10, 2025, 20 days earlier than the expected schedule announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, which is June 26-27, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that it was due to the impact in the context of the whole country implementing the arrangement and merger of provinces and cities, completing the district-level tasks according to Conclusion 127-KL/TW dated February 28, 2025 of the Politburo and the Secretariat on implementing research and proposing to continue to arrange the organization of the political system.

At the same time, the Department also recommended that the Ministry of Education and Training soon issue a directive document, organization plan and schedule for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.

"These adjustments aim to ensure the rights of students and stabilize the psychology of parents and students. At the same time, they facilitate the preparation work of localities to organize the high school graduation exam safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations," the document stated.

In response to many conflicting opinions, on the morning of March 20, the Ministry of Education and Training issued an official response regarding the consideration of adjusting the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam schedule. Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to keep the exam schedule announced in the 2024-2025 school year plan (Decision No. 2045/QD-BGDDT dated August 1, 2024).

This decision of the Ministry of Education and Training has received the agreement and support of many students and parents across the country, especially in Ho Chi Minh City.

Nguyen Thi An, a 12th grade student at a high school in Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "When I heard about the proposed change in the exam schedule, I was very worried because my review plan was built according to the old exam schedule. Now that the Ministry of Education and Training has kept the exam schedule, my friends and I are very happy and feel secure to focus on reviewing."

Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Tran Thu Huong, a parent in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, expressed: "My family has prepared everything for my child according to the announced exam schedule. Changing the exam schedule at this time will cause great disruption for the whole family. The decision of the Ministry of Education and Training is very reasonable, helping us stabilize our mentality and have the best preparation for our child's important exam."

Regarding the reason for keeping the exam schedule unchanged in the response document, the Ministry of Education and Training said that keeping the exam schedule unchanged is to help stabilize the psychology of students and parents and not affect other activities in the education sector.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requested the Departments of Education and Training to closely coordinate with relevant units to implement the 2024-2025 school year plan, organize the 2025 High School Graduation Exam according to plan and ensure safety, seriousness, and compliance with regulations.
