Living space with green density of 32m²/person at Blue Forest
Many lands are "thirsty" for green space
Naturalist Edward O. Wilson from Harvard University (USA) once mentioned the term "Biophilia" with the meaning: humans are born with a love for nature, feel close to, love and desire to connect with nature.
The World Health Organization, a specialized agency under the United Nations, recommends that each person needs green space no more than 300 meters from home, and cities must have a ratio of 10 - 15 m²/person. In the most modern cities in the world, the green space per capita reaches 20 - 25 m².
However, the urban green space ratio in Vietnam is currently only 1/5 - 1/10 of the world. According to the Ministry of Construction, if the public green space ratio in Ho Chi Minh City is about 0.55m²/person - the lowest among urban areas in the country, then in Hanoi, this figure reaches 2.06m²/person, Da Nang 2.4m²/person, Hai Phong 3.41m²/person... These figures are much lower than the special urban green space standard of about 12 - 15m²/person, urban areas of type I and II of about 10 - 12m²/person, according to TCVN 9257:2012.
A corner of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City - a place filled with high-rise buildings and lacking green space
According to the program for developing public parks and trees in the area, Ho Chi Minh City sets a target of urban green space reaching no less than 0.65m²/person by 2025. To do that, the city needs to build at least 150ha of new public parks, 10ha of public green space and plant and renovate 30,000 trees. However, from 2021 to now, the city has only developed nearly 30ha of public parks...
According to an expert, not only is there a lack of trees, the quality of green space in Ho Chi Minh City is also limited due to encroachment for parking lots, business... The variety of trees is not diverse, the water surface space associated with green space is affected by encroachment activities on canals...
The East Saigon area has a green density of 32m²/person.
The lack of urban green space requires urban developers to build "humane cities", develop green urban areas, and allocate more land for connecting utilities.
A typical pioneer investor solving this problem by developing ecological urban areas, balancing urban space and natural environment is the founder of Ecopark. The real estate developer has 21 years of experience in the Vietnamese market, famous for the green city Ecopark - the urban area with the most beautiful landscape design in the world.
Need more green space to connect the community
The green urban creation mark of the founder of Ecopark continues to be demonstrated at Ecovillage Saigon River - a project 18km from Notre Dame Cathedral. On a scale of 55ha, the investor has dedicated 16.5ha to planting trees, building parks, renovating and preserving internal water surfaces, with a green area ratio of up to 25.7m²/person - 2.5 times higher than the United Nations standard, 47 times higher than Ho Chi Minh City today.
Ecovillage Saigon River is just a river away from Saigon.
This is also the place expected to become the first "Blue Zones" in Vietnam and the sixth in the world, where residents receive proactive health care, aiming for a long life.
Blue Forest - forest in the middle of Blue Zones - Ecovillage Saigon River
The Blue Forest subdivision was recently launched, the investor surpassed his own limits by dedicating 11 hectares to developing green space on an area of 14 hectares. Here, the green density is 32m²/person - more than 3 times the United Nations target, 55 times the current green ratio in Ho Chi Minh City.
Green layers embrace each townhouse in the project
At Blue Forest - "forest in the heart of Blue Zones", the founder of Ecopark advocates planting and developing 7 layers of nature, including: canopy layer - large canopy layer - shrub layer - herbaceous layer - ground cover layer - forest floor layer - climbing layer.
Experts from LJ Asia - a landscape design consultancy company under LJ-Group, assessed that the land and the original climate of the project are suitable for the development of natural forests. They also considered bringing some species of trees from the Southern region into the project, to honor the natural environment in the Southeast region.
Blue Forest is planted with many layers of trees, providing shade.
Mr. Daniel Alonso - representative of LJ Group said that the unit set itself a big challenge to preserve the richness of this ecosystem. "We emphasize having a natural environment present in your daily life. Residents at Blue Forest will live in the middle of nature, close to nature and step out the door to blend into nature," said the representative.
Sport Clubhouse facilities are covered with many types of trees and flowers.
Surrounded by 7 layers of nature, Blue Forest residents can watch the sunlight peeking through the leaves, listen to the sounds of the forest, breathe in the fresh air and scent of the trees, touch the tree trunks, or enjoy the delicious taste of the fruits. Enjoying nature with the 5 senses is considered a useful spiritual medicine, helping people relieve anxiety, stimulating the 6th sense of feeling happiness.
Residents forest bathing right on their doorstep
In addition, the investor also reserved 17,000 m² of land for auxiliary works, from healthcare - education - services - parking lots... There are 3 theme parks and 18 auxiliary facilities, providing "all-in-one" amenities, fully meeting all residents' needs.
"Developing Blue Forest - a forest in the middle of Blue Zones is not only our way to improve the quality of life, create a fresh living space, improve air quality, and enhance the health of Saigon residents, but also our way to accompany the project of planting one billion trees for a green Vietnam," said the founder of Ecopark.
