Large real estate enterprises such as Vingroup, Sungroup, Viglacera, Becamex IDC Binh Duong… will participate in the National Conference to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote the development of social housing held tomorrow (March 6) in Hanoi.

The Government Office recently sent a dispatch to relevant ministries, branches and the State Bank of Vietnam regarding the plan to organize this conference. According to the program, the conference will take place directly in Hanoi and be connected online to 63 provinces and cities across the country.

The conference aims to find solutions to remove obstacles in social housing development, and at the same time implement the project to build at least 1 million apartments for low-income people and workers in the 2021-2030 period.

As directed, the Ministry of Construction will report on the development of social housing as well as the progress of the 1 million apartment project, and propose a plan to coordinate with large enterprises in the real estate sector to support the Government in removing difficulties and promoting this program.

The Prime Minister requested the State Bank to report on removing difficulties and obstacles in accessing credit capital for real estate businesses; report on disbursement of VND 120,000 billion (now VND 145,000 billion package) in loans to support businesses in completing social housing development projects, worker accommodation, and renovating and rebuilding apartment buildings; the Prime Minister also requested the State Bank to report on the proposal to provide long-term preferential loans to young people under 35 years old.

The Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to report on removing difficulties and obstacles for projects related to land law such as determining land prices and calculating land use fees...

The Ministry of Finance is required to report on the impact of tax policies, remove difficulties and obstacles related to bidding procedures...

The conference is expected to have the direct participation of 200 delegates who are experts, representatives of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association and many large real estate enterprises nationwide such as Vingroup, Sungroup, Novaland, Hung Thinh Land, Becamex IDC Binh Duong, CEO Group, Him Lam, Capital House, Capitaland, Viglacera, HUD, Ecopark...

Recently, the Ministry of Construction reported to the Prime Minister on the development of social housing to serve this conference. According to updated data, in 2024, the country has 28 projects with a scale of 20,284 completed units, an increase of about 46% compared to 2023.

In addition, 23 projects with a scale of 25,399 units have been licensed and started construction, an increase of about 13% compared to the previous year. The number of projects approved for investment policy is 113 projects, equivalent to 142,450 units, an increase of about 101% compared to 2023.

Thus, the number of apartments that have been started and completed to date has reached about 42.38% of the target of the Project of 1 million apartments by 2025.

Recently, the Prime Minister issued a resolution on the target of completing social housing in 2025 and the following years until 2030 for localities to add to the socio-economic development target. Accordingly, the target of social housing that localities must complete in the period of 2025 - 2030 is 995,445 apartments.

Of which, in 2025 there will be 100,275 apartments, in 2026 there will be 116,347 apartments, in 2027 there will be 148,343 apartments, in 2028 there will be 172,402 apartments; in 2029 there will be 186,917 apartments and in 2030 there will be 271,161 apartments.
