On the morning of March 23, at March 23 Square, Dong Xoai City, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Phuoc Province solemnly held the Ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Binh Phuoc Province Liberation Day (March 23, 1975 - March 23, 2025) and receive the First Class Labor Medal.

Attending the ceremony were former Politburo members: former President Nguyen Minh Triet, former President Truong Tan Sang; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, former Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh; members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan; leaders of a number of central and local departments, ministries and branches.

Also attending were leaders and former leaders of Binh Phuoc province through the periods; veteran revolutionary cadres, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; generals, officers, veterans...

At the ceremony, Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee Ton Ngoc Hanh delivered a speech emphasizing the spirit of the people of the Eastern region, "hard-working but brave", during the 21 years of long resistance war, the army and people of Binh Phuoc always showed their steadfast and indomitable spirit, ready to sacrifice their property and lives for the revolutionary cause to win, together with the army and people of the Southeast region and the whole country to make many resounding achievements.

In each revolutionary period, on this land there are outstanding and typical events and struggles, contributing to beautifying the heroic history of the nation, forever becoming the pride of Binh Phuoc homeland.

Each historical milestone is built with a strong will, with a passionate love for the homeland, with a spirit of tireless dedication to the homeland and country, so that each citizen can appreciate more and more deeply the value of independence, freedom, the value of peace and development.

After half a century, despite many difficulties, under the wise leadership and deep concern of the Party Central Committee, the Party Committee, government and people in the province have united, promoted revolutionary traditions, and achieved many important achievements in all fields.

In 2024, Binh Phuoc's economic scale will reach more than 115,000 billion VND, 92 times higher than when the province was re-established in 1997.

The average GRDP growth rate in the 2021-2025 period reached 9.4% - a high level compared to the national average; foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction to date has reached approximately 5 billion USD; the urbanization rate reached over 41%; socio-economic infrastructure has been strengthened in a synchronous, modern and increasingly complete direction.

Social security is taken care of, the material and spiritual life of the people is improved. Political stability, national defense-security, social order and safety are ensured; administrative reform, digital transformation have developed strongly; practicing thrift, preventing corruption, waste, and negativity are seriously implemented... This is an important premise for Binh Phuoc to aim to become an industrial province in the direction of modernity, efficiency and sustainability by 2030, an "attractive destination" of the Southeast region.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong respectfully sends his warmest regards and best wishes to the revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, generals, officers, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of heroic martyrs, people with meritorious services to the country, delegates, distinguished guests, and all compatriots, comrades, people of all ethnic groups and officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Binh Phuoc province.

Proudly and emotionally recalling the years of hardship but bravery, fierce but glorious, the President emphasized that this is also an opportunity to look back at the strong development path of Binh Phuoc - a steadfast, indomitable land, rich in revolutionary and heroic traditions, which has been rising strongly over the past 50 years - from a fierce battlefield, heavily devastated by war and poverty in the past, it has now become a land full of vitality, dynamism and striving for integration.

Reviewing the heroic history of the years of struggle for national independence of the army and people of Binh Phuoc, the President affirmed that the victory of An Loc-Binh Phuoc had a particularly important strategic significance, opening wide the Northwest gateway for the liberation army to advance straight into Saigon, preparing to open the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, contributing to the historic victory of Spring 1975, completely liberating the South and unifying the country.

“After 50 years, we understand more deeply the great significance and significance of the victory to liberate Binh Phuoc province. This is not only a victory, the result of a war, but also a symbol of the indomitable spirit, the iron will and the belief in victory of the army and people of Binh Phuoc and the army and people of the whole country, marking the victory of the 21-year long journey of resistance, the result of the efforts and blood of many generations of cadres, soldiers and people who died to gain freedom, to reunite the country...,” the President emphasized.

The President assessed that from a place that was once a fierce battlefield and had a low socio-economic starting point, Binh Phuoc has now become a dynamically developing province in the Southeast region.

With the tradition of a heroic homeland, the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and rise up in the face of hardship, the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Phuoc have made comprehensive progress in all aspects. The scale of the economy has increased 92 times compared to the time of liberation.

Not only achieving outstanding economic achievements, Binh Phuoc is also a bright spot in cultural and social development, with people's lives constantly improving.

Per capita income increased sharply, the poverty rate decreased to nearly 1%, the healthcare and education systems received synchronous investment. Digital transformation and administrative reform were strongly promoted.

As a gathering place of 41 ethnic groups, Binh Phuoc always focuses on preserving traditional cultural values, while promoting the spirit of solidarity for mutual development.

The President affirmed that Binh Phuoc has not only risen to become a bright spot in socio-economic development, but is also a testament to the will and aspiration for continuous development of a land once devastated by war.

The values of peace, unity and development today are built from the great efforts, contributions and sacrifices of yesterday. That is the motivation for each Binh Phuoc child to continue to rise up, work hard, be creative, and join hands to build a prosperous and modern Binh Phuoc, worthy of the heroic tradition that generations of fathers and brothers have worked hard to cultivate.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President commended and congratulated the great achievements that the Party Committee, government, people of all ethnic groups and armed forces of Binh Phuoc province have achieved in solidarity, overcoming difficulties and challenges over the past 50 years.

The President emphasized that the 50th anniversary of Binh Phuoc Liberation Day is an opportunity to review the heroic history, pay tribute to and honor the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives, compatriots, comrades and officers and soldiers who devoted and contributed to the cause of national liberation and reunification; thereby, each Vietnamese citizen today and tomorrow will be more deeply aware of their role and responsibility in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland, continuing to write heroic history with new achievements.

The President suggested that Binh Phuoc continue to strongly promote its heroic tradition, along with the bravery, intelligence, will and determination, spirit and strength of the people, of the great national unity bloc, to join the whole country in entering a new era, an era of rising up, developing richly and prosperously for the beloved Vietnamese people.

At the Ceremony, President Luong Cuong awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Phuoc province, a noble award of the State, recognizing outstanding achievements in socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

On the same morning, the President and the Central delegation offered incense at the Phu Rieng Do National Historical Site - the site where the Indochinese Communist Party cell was established in Phu Rieng, Thuan Phu commune, Dong Phu district, Binh Phuoc province.

In a solemn and sacred atmosphere, the President and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs and express their deep gratitude for the great contributions of the excellent and elite revolutionary soldiers who have made immense contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Phu Rieng Do was one of the first workers' movements in Vietnam carried out by rubber workers at Phu Rieng plantation. Here, on the night of October 28, 1929, comrade Nguyen Xuan Cu announced the establishment of the Indochinese Communist Party cell in Phu Rieng with 6 party members. This was the first Communist cell in the Southeast region.

The establishment of the Party cell helped the revolutionary struggle movement of the rubber workers to change dramatically. The most prominent mark of the Phu Rieng Do Party cell was leading the strike of nearly 5,000 workers of Phu Rieng plantation that lasted from January 30, 1930 to February 6, 1930 and won the victory.

The President and the delegation also visited and presented gifts to veteran Nguyen Phuong My, a historical witness who directly fought and participated in the entire campaign to liberate Phuoc Long and Dong Xoai in 1975.
