On the afternoon of February 6, in Phu My town (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Road Management Area IV (Vietnam Road Administration) launched road management and maintenance work in 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang, Deputy Director of Vietnam Road Administration, and leaders of Highway 4 encouraged the officers and workers who are working day and night to repair and maintain Highway 51.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of Highway QLDB Zone 4, said that the unit is assigned to manage national highways and expressway projects through 22 southern provinces and cities from Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong to Ca Mau. The total length of the routes is about 5,352km. Of which, the unit directly manages regular maintenance on 31 national highways and some sections and expressways with a length of 3,074km.
In 2024, National Highway 51 will be seriously degraded when the BOT project investor does not continue maintenance, while the procedures to establish state assets have not been completed, causing difficulties in funding maintenance. Traffic volume on this route is up to 60,500 vehicles/day and night (5-6 times higher than the original design), causing the road to deteriorate further.
Road Management Area 4 has carried out procedures and submitted to competent authorities to request funding to repair urgent damaged sections so that people can travel safely.
Workers were happy to receive gifts and lucky money at the beginning of spring 2025 from the leaders of the Vietnam Road Administration.
According to the reporter's records, in the first days of spring, 886 - Thanh Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and Saigon Traffic Joint Stock Company quickly mobilized motorbikes, equipment, and personnel to implement the project of emergency repair of the drainage system on some sections of National Highway 51 (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) at sections Km38+350 Km39+880, Km39+918. In addition, related units also regularly cut grass, clear the curbs, clean the road surface and traffic safety system Km0+800-Km73+600 and many other sections on National Highway 51.
A representative of 886 - Thanh Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (the construction and maintenance unit of National Highway 51) said that, understanding the important role of the route, from the first days of spring 2025, engineers and workers immediately started working to implement the assigned projects.
"We encourage our workers to work in multiple shifts and assign traffic control personnel to ensure safety for workers and pedestrians. The construction units are committed to completing the projects on time," said a representative of the construction unit.

In 2025, regular maintenance work of Highway 4 has been planned in detail with 63 project categories.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh said that to ensure quality, immediately after selecting a contractor, the Zone will start construction during the dry season, striving to complete by the end of October 2025, helping people travel more conveniently at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year.
Drainage system maintenance has been taking place since early spring in the section passing through Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
