The contractor is making every effort to complete the stage project on the Huong River to organize major art programs of Hue City, especially the art program on the opening night of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.
The stage project on the Perfume River is built behind the National School Stele - Hue, part of the outdoor stage project combined with a riverside promenade, starting on December 27, 2024.
After nearly 3 months, the pile system of the floating stage, driven into the riverbed and about 50cm above the water surface, is now complete, and the stage floor is being installed.
The semicircular stage on the riverbank and the stands inside the stage are also being accelerated by contractors taking advantage of the clear weather to complete the construction of the items.
Mr. Van Viet Thanh, Director of Thua Thien Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company (construction contractor) said that the weather during the project implementation was unfavorable, with a lot of rain after Tet, but the contractor mobilized machinery and equipment to take advantage of the clear weather to speed up the progress, especially in the grandstand and stage areas.
“We have now handed over the site so that the festival organizers can install the stands and stage in time to serve the art program on the opening night of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, which will take place on the evening of March 25,” said Mr. Thanh.
The project of outdoor stage combined with walking path along Huong River has a total cost of about 28.5 billion VND, invested by Thuan Hoa District Green Park Center, Hue City, including the following items: walking path along Huong River, stage, grandstand, lighting, LED lights, green tree system, grass carpet.
The project aims to invest in construction works to beautify and create landscapes to maximize the exploitation of both banks of the Perfume River for cultural tourism. This will also be a place for entertainment and to organize major events in Hue City. The project implementation period is 2 years.
Construction package No. 7 includes the entire construction of an outdoor stage combined with a walking path along the Huong River, constructed by Thua Thien Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company with a total cost of 21 billion VND.
According to the design, the riverside promenade is 432m long, 3m wide, with a 1.7m high M300 reinforced concrete retaining wall; a 20cm thick reinforced concrete floor, 50mm thick ironwood flooring, with an area of nearly 1,300m2. The semicircular stage has a 20cm thick reinforced concrete floor, 50mm thick ironwood flooring, with an area of 430m2.
The grandstand area has an area of about 3,000m2, with 334m long monolithic stone benches and seasonal grass and flowers. In addition, there is a system of floodlights, LED backlights, waterproof LED bar lights...
This walking route and outdoor stage will connect from the tourist boat dock area at 5 Le Loi with the ironwood-floored walking route along the southern bank of the Huong River that has been built.
The construction representative also said that according to the design, for the performance stage on the river, underground piles will be driven into the riverbed to fix the stage (these piles are about 50cm lower than the water surface). Every time there is an event, the stage will be installed on the pile system to serve the performance and then dismantled to return the water surface.
This floating stage will connect to the semicircular ironwood stage on the shore, creating a unique performing arts space.
In order to serve the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 scheduled to take place on the evening of March 25, the investor is currently urging construction units to mobilize machinery, equipment and human resources, "work overtime" to speed up the project completion progress as committed, especially the stage and grandstand items.
