On the morning of December 27, the Provincial Ethnic Committee held a conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024; and review 3 years of implementing the Project "Promoting propaganda on drug crime prevention and control in ethnic minority and mountainous areas", according to Decision No. 677/QD-UBDT, dated October 5, 2021 of the Ethnic Committee.
In 2023, ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies in the province will be directed, implemented seriously, promptly, for the right purposes, for the right subjects and achieve many positive results.
Policies for prestigious people among ethnic minorities are also implemented promptly; policies on cultural and social development, health care, education, and human resource development are given attention and implemented effectively.
The national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas, the program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction are given strong attention and direction.

Thereby, the appearance of ethnic minority areas has many positive changes; the socio-economic infrastructure has been gradually completed; the great solidarity of ethnic groups has been increasingly strengthened; the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved; the political security situation and social order and safety in ethnic minority areas have been basically stable. The poverty rate among ethnic minorities has decreased by 3.5% compared to 2022 (reaching 100% of the plan).

After 3 years of implementing the Project "Promoting propaganda on drug crime prevention and control in ethnic minority and mountainous areas", the effectiveness of propaganda on drug prevention and control has been improved. With many appropriate contents, forms and measures, especially propaganda on the Internet, through social networking sites (zalo, facebook), websites, the provincial electronic information portal and the electronic information pages of departments, branches and localities, the propaganda work has contributed to raising awareness, responsibility and sense of law compliance among ethnic minority people in drug prevention and control.
The team of prestigious people, village elders, village and hamlet chiefs, and religious dignitaries performed well the role of propaganda, education, mobilization, and denunciation of subjects showing signs of violating the law; not allowing bad guys to take advantage of and incite people to cause disturbances to local security and order.

The Provincial Ethnic Committee also set out key tasks for 2024, including focusing on effectively implementing the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period; focusing on propagating and mobilizing ethnic minorities on the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies; promptly praising good practices, effective models in implementing ethnic policies, and examples of ethnic minorities with outstanding achievements in the fields of culture, economy and society.
Along with that, continue to innovate, arrange and improve the quality of state management apparatus activities on ethnic affairs at all levels; inspect and urge the implementation of ethnic programs, projects and policies at the grassroots level; continue to implement the pilot model of "Residential areas for preventing and combating drug crimes"...

On this occasion, the Provincial Ethnic Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in propaganda work on drug crime prevention and control in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, period 2021 - 2023.
