Speaking to Dan Viet reporters on the afternoon of July 18, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province informed that according to the results of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, Bac Ninh province continued to affirm its position as a land of learning when it ranked 5th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of average high school graduation exam score with 7.21 points. This position is similar to 2023 and increased by 1 rank compared to 2022.

According to the 2024 high school graduation exam score data announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, Bac Ninh has a very high score of 9.5 or higher in literature. Of the total 17,493 candidates in Bac Ninh taking the 2024 high school graduation exam, 606 candidates scored 9.75 points in literature and 1,284 candidates scored 9.5 points. Thus, the total number of candidates scoring 9.5 points in literature accounts for 10.8%, meaning that for every 10 candidates taking the high school graduation exam, at least 1 student will score 9.5 points or higher.
Nationwide, there are 1,807 candidates who achieved a score of 9.75 in literature, of which Bac Ninh currently accounts for 1/3 (about 33.5%). If calculating the literature score of 9 or higher, the entire Bac Ninh province has 4,532/17,493 candidates achieving this score, accounting for 25.9%. In other words, for every 4 candidates in Bac Ninh taking the literature exam, more than 1 candidate will achieve 9 points.
Although the above information surprised many people, according to the Department of Education and Training, Bac Ninh province's literature score ranked 8th nationwide, down 1 place compared to 2023.
"In the exam subjects, many strong subjects continue to maintain a stable position in the top 10 nationwide in terms of average scores over the years. Specifically, Physics ranked 2nd (equal to 2023); Mathematics ranked 3rd (up 4 places compared to 2023); History ranked 6th (down 1 place compared to 2023); Chemistry ranked 6th (up 2 places compared to 2023); Geography ranked 7th (up 4 places compared to 2023); Foreign Language ranked 8th (equal to 2023)" - Bac Ninh Department of Education and Training informed.
Explaining the factors that made candidates in Bac Ninh achieve high scores in the 2024 high school graduation exam, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province stated that students who achieved high scores in the high school graduation mock exams were directly trained by the provincial core teachers to review the final stage to improve their exam scores towards the top positions of the traditional exam groups.
Statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training also show that Bac Ninh is the province with 13/19 top students in group C00 (literature, history, geography). This locality also has 50 out of 121 candidates with the highest scores in group C00. Similarly, with group D01 (math, literature, English), Bac Ninh province leads with 26/114 candidates achieving the highest scores nationwide.
2024 is the third consecutive year that Bac Ninh province has had the national valedictorian of block C0; 2 salutatorians of block D0; 2 candidates ranked 3rd and 4th in block A0 nationwide. "Along with the drastic participation of the units, the sense of responsibility of the teachers, the efforts of the students and appropriate, synchronous and flexible solutions have promoted the capacity and strengths of each student with clear goals, from passing the graduation exam to winning the titles of valedictorian, salutatorian and many other goals depending on the capacity, strengths as well as the spirit of determination to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge of the students themselves" - Bac Ninh Department of Education and Training emphasized.
Based on the results of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, Bac Ninh province will have specific assessments to continue adjusting teaching, learning, assessment, and review appropriately in the following school years. In particular, 2025 will be the year to start organizing the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program with many changes, including the exam questions. For example, the Literature exam from 2025 will no longer use materials in textbooks or other adjustments to approach the education system that develops the qualities and abilities of learners.
