The project to renovate and upgrade the Tao Khe canal (Bac Ninh) has not been handed over yet, but a series of concrete blocks have slid down the Chi River. The road is also affected, and people hope it will be repaired before the rainy season.
According to VietNamNet reporters, the project to renovate and upgrade the Tao Khe drainage canal (from Tram bridge to Chi regulation) is a group B project, with the type of agricultural and rural development works; irrigation works invested by the Bac Ninh Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The initial estimated capital of the project was 199.95 billion VND and was adjusted down to more than 192 billion VND. However, while the project was under construction, a landslide occurred.

The project has not yet been handed over and accepted by the contractor.
On February 12, 2025, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued Decision No. 76 approving the adjustment and supplementation of the investment policy of this project. The adjustment reduces the capital from VND 199.95 billion to VND 192.348 billion; increases the implementation period from 2021 to 2025 instead of 2024 as before.
In addition, the project has also been adjusted to increase or decrease some dredging and hardening sections such as: Hardening the canal banks to serve the exploitation, management and operation of the project combined with intra-field traffic with a total length of about 18,000m down to 16,185m...
Speaking to VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Director of the Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board of Bac Ninh province said: "Because I just started working, I don't have a clear understanding of the information. I will check it right away and then inform you later."
People living in this area hope that local authorities will soon repair the roads and embankments before the rainy season arrives.
