Yen Bai gradually modernizes power grid infrastructure

Yen Bai - With a total investment of more than VND 831 billion for 50 projects in 2024, Yen Bai Electricity Company is gradually modernizing the power grid infrastructure, meeting the needs of socio-economic development and attracting investment to the locality.

In the context of increasing demand for electricity, investment in upgrading power grid infrastructure is becoming a key factor to promote local socio-economic development.

In Yen Bai, the Electricity Company has been implementing a series of key projects to improve the quality of electricity supply, meeting the increasing needs of people and businesses.

Recently, the Company has successfully completed and put into operation the T2 transformer at the Yen Bai 2 110 kV Station located in the Southern Industrial Park of the province. This is a project of strategic significance, meeting the demand for load growth in the period 2016 - 2025 with a view to 2035, while contributing to reducing power loss and improving reliability in power supply.

Mr. Le Trung Duc - Head of Project Department, Technical Services and Power Grid Project Management Joint Stock Company said: "Transformer T2 was built with a total cost of over 41 billion VND. The investment scale includes the installation of transformer T2; completion of the collection, monitoring and remote control system allowing connection to the regional control center, ensuring the transformer station operates in unmanned mode; completion of the 110 kV communication compartment between the two busbars C11, C12; installation of a 35 kV, 22 kV distribution cabinet system with 4 35 kV line bays and 4 22 kV line bays".

This project not only provides electricity for the development of the Southern Industrial Park but also meets the production and living needs of the people of Yen Binh district and part of the load of Yen Bai city. In particular, the project also contributes to improving the investment and business environment, attracting domestic and foreign investors to Yen Bai province.

According to Mr. Cao Binh Dinh - Director of Yen Bai Electricity Company, in 2024, the unit will carry out 50 construction investment projects with a total investment of over 831 billion VND.

Of these, there are 15 projects carried over from 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 35 projects assigned by the Northern Power Corporation in 2024 and 2025 with a total investment of nearly VND 507 billion. Notably, in 2024, the Company closed a number of connecting circuits and new lines, contributing to improving the reliability of power supply.

Thanks to that, the indicators of electrical incidents, the rate of electricity loss by commodity, and the rate of electricity loss by voltage level all decreased compared to 2023. "All projects were started and energized according to the Company's plan and brought high efficiency in technical operations, business and customer service" - Director Cao Binh Dinh emphasized.

In recent years, Yen Bai province has continuously improved its investment and business environment, attracting investors to invest long-term in the locality. In that context, the efforts of the electricity sector to construct power projects have contributed significantly to gradually completing the planned power grid system.

Transformer T2 Yen Bai 2 110 kV Station is not only one of the grid infrastructure upgrade projects deployed by Yen Bai Electricity Company in 2024 but also a project to welcome the Company's Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.

This project, along with other projects, is contributing to meeting the province's rapidly increasing electricity demand, especially in industrial parks.

It can be seen that, in parallel with the work of maintaining, ensuring electrical safety and modernizing the power grid, the concentration of investment resources in building and upgrading the power grid infrastructure is being given special attention by Yen Bai Electricity Company. This not only serves the increasing demand for electricity of people and businesses but is also an important driving force to promote the socio-economic development of the province in the coming years.
