Focus on removing difficulties and obstacles for Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant project

Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Quang Hung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vu Kim Cu, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board; leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and localities.

The Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant Project, invested by PVN, is located in My Loc Commune (Thai Thuy District) with a total investment of more than VND 34,000 billion. The project consists of 2 units with a total designed capacity of 1,200 MW, providing about 7.2 billion kWh of commercial electricity each year. Since May 2023, the plant's units have been put into operation and connected to the national grid.

Comrade Vu Kim Cu, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board, spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, the two sides focused on discussing and proposing solutions to remove difficulties related to adjusting investment registration certificates; fees for granting water resource exploitation rights; resource taxes; land lease, land use management and implementation of financial obligations on land.

Mr. Pham Tuan Anh, member of the Board of Members of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, spoke at the meeting. Mr. Phan Tu Giang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Pham Tuan Anh, member of the Board of Members of PVN, thanked Thai Binh province for its attention and support for PVN's activities, especially the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant Project. He affirmed that after 13 years of implementation, the project has received the support of authorities at all levels, contributing to ensuring safety, stable operation, contributing to the local budget and creating jobs for more than 500 workers. He hopes to continue to receive close coordination from Thai Binh province in the coming time to completely resolve existing problems and difficulties, helping the plant operate stably and effectively in the long term.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, congratulated PVN on its impressive achievements in recent times, and acknowledged the Group's contributions to the socio-economic development of Thai Binh province. He emphasized that Thai Binh province always appreciates and wishes to continue receiving the companionship and support from businesses, especially large economic groups such as PVN. The province is committed to creating all favorable conditions for Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant and other PVN projects to operate effectively, contributing to the sustainable growth of the locality.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also shared the difficulties and obstacles of enterprises in the process of project implementation; at the same time, assigned relevant departments, branches and localities to closely coordinate with the Group to promptly remove obstacles, ensure progress, efficiency and compliance with legal regulations.
