Implementing support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses: Construction started on about 1,100 houses, about 500 houses have been completed.

(VLO) On the afternoon of March 26, comrade Tran Tien Dung - Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, chaired the meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Vinh Long province (referred to as the Steering Committee) to report on the results of the implementation of support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

According to the report, the total number of houses in need of support is 1,344 (497 under construction, 847 under repair). Of which, 507 houses are for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives (54 under construction, 453 under repair), with a total amount of VND16.38 billion; 796 houses are for poor and near-poor households (402 under construction, 394 under repair), with a total amount of VND35.94 billion; 41 houses are for ethnic minority households (under construction), with a total amount of VND2.46 billion.

Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Tran Tien Dung gave a speech directing the implementation of the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province (afternoon of March 26).

Progress as of March 21, the total number of houses that have started construction is 1,075/1,344 (79.99%). Including 463/507 houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs; 571/796 houses for poor and near-poor households; 41/41 houses for ethnic minority households. Up to that point, the total number of completed houses is 494/1,344 (36.76%). Of which, households for people with meritorious services: 259 houses; poor and near-poor households: 214 houses; ethnic minority households: 21 houses.

At the conference, most district-level localities committed to completing the construction and repair of houses for beneficiaries before April 30. In his speech, Comrade Tran Tien Dung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee assessed that localities were very active, trying and determined in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area; highly appreciated the contribution of working days of organizations and forces; and the work of mobilizing social resources to join hands to support this program for beneficiaries. The Provincial Steering Committee requested localities to make more efforts to soon complete the housing support according to the set plan.
