Previously, Ms. Do Thi Minh Trang in Yen Thinh Ward, Yen Bai City did not pay much attention to products with Vietnamese brands. Ms. Trang believes that products such as electronics, refrigeration or clothing must be famous foreign brands to have good quality. However, the price is not cheap.

After visiting the fair, accessing sales channels and directly seeing friends and relatives using Vietnamese branded products and goods, which were all very good and reasonably priced compared to imported products, she bought a few items to try. Up to now, from household items to clothing, she has completely abandoned the idea that only foreign goods are of good quality.

Ms. Trang shared: "Vietnamese products are not inferior in quality to foreign products, they are diverse, durable, and have reasonable prices, so I feel secure when using them. Now, I see that not only my family but also most of my relatives and friends trust and use Vietnamese products and goods."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue in Mu Cang Chai town, Mu Cang Chai district is the owner of a homestay model. Previously, she had to buy foreign products to equip her homestay such as fans, air conditioners, bedding, pillows and mattresses at quite high prices, so the investment cost was quite large while the business was small, so the profit was not high. After researching and finding the prices reasonable, she switched to using Vietnamese products.

Ms. Hue said: "The habit of using foreign goods has become a default not only for me but also for many people. However, now the technology and level of Vietnamese people are quite high, domestic production reduces costs and prices, and the repair and warranty policies are also quite good. As a Vietnamese, why not use Vietnamese goods? Moreover, using Vietnamese goods is also patriotism. From that thought, I have encouraged my relatives to form the habit of consuming and using products with Vietnamese brands."

To encourage people to use Vietnamese goods, Yen Bai province has directed the Department of Industry and Trade, the Standing Agency of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", to coordinate and implement many programs to support local businesses. Outstanding programs such as the Vietnamese goods trade fair, the week introducing OCOP products, specialties and typical local products to help businesses promote and bring products closer to consumers not only domestically but also to the international market. In addition to agricultural products, handicraft products such as Nghia Lo rattan and bamboo weaving, brocade weaving of the Thai and Mong people... are also the pride of Yen Bai.

These products not only have economic value but also contain the traditional cultural quintessence of ethnic minorities. In addition, the province also creates conditions for production facilities to apply technology to production, improve designs and enhance product quality to compete in the market. Business support policies such as preferential loans, tax reductions along with business-consumer connection programs have helped Vietnamese goods in Yen Bai develop strongly.

Yen Bai focuses on strengthening the control of counterfeit and poor quality goods, strictly handling violations. Authorities regularly inspect markets, supermarkets, and stores to ensure that only qualified products reach consumers. In addition, local production facilities are constantly improving, registering for quality certification, and origin traceability stamps to build trust with customers. Thanks to that, Vietnamese goods in Yen Bai are increasingly popular and affirm their position in the market.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade shared: "To form the habit of using Vietnamese goods, the Department has implemented many activities to support businesses, cooperatives and production and business households to bring products to e-commerce platforms to expand the market and promote the consumption of local products. Up to now, the Department has supported the creation of over 30,000 buying and selling accounts for farming households on the e-commerce platform Buudien.vn. In addition, the Department also supported more than 1,000 businesses and more than 600 OCOP products to be offered for sale on e-commerce platforms; introduced over 3,550 products with a sales value of billions of VND... so that people can easily access and shop most conveniently".

Forming the habit of using Vietnamese goods not only promotes production, contributes to the development of the homeland but also creates jobs and improves the lives of local workers. With the joint efforts of the government, businesses and consumers, Vietnamese goods in Yen Bai will continue to affirm their position and reach further, worthy of the pride of the Vietnamese people.

Yen Bai currently has a distribution network of goods including 96 traditional markets throughout the province, 2 commercial centers and 1 supermarket, 20 points of introduction and sale of OCOP products; 25 Winmart+ stores, 80 large distribution enterprises, 160 convenience stores, thousands of small retail stores. The proportion of Vietnamese goods in markets, supermarkets and commercial centers in the province is about 70 - 80%, meeting people's needs and contributing to promoting domestic consumption.
