Yen Bai strives for digital economy to account for 20% or more of GRDP

To achieve this goal, Yen Bai province continues to effectively implement mechanisms and policies on public-private cooperation in developing modern digital infrastructure and strategic digital technology; encourage investment, purchase and lease of digital products and services; promote technology and innovation fields.

Develop and promulgate mechanisms and policies to support and encourage organizations, individuals and enterprises to invest in and build laboratories, research and development centers for science and technology; attract organizations and enterprises operating in the fields of digital transformation, digital technology product development, and cyber security industry to invest in the province.

Developing telecommunications and Internet infrastructure that meets the requirements of backup, connectivity, safety, and sustainability, satellite data transmission systems, high-speed broadband fiber optic cable networks covering the entire province, 5G and next-generation mobile information networks. Promoting digital transformation in industrial parks and clusters of the province; applying the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies, etc.

The province also allocates at least 3% of the total annual budget for science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and gradually increases according to development requirements; the number of patent applications and patent protection certificates increases by an average of 16% - 18% per year, of which the commercial exploitation rate reaches 100%; the rate of phone and smart device users accessing and using e-government and smart urban services reaches 90%.
