Half a century of national reunification, through many ups and downs, Vietnam has risen to become the 35th largest economy in the world. On this journey, there are the marks of businesses that, despite many changes of the times, still maintain the pioneering spirit of innovation, overcome challenges, and strive to contribute to the journey of building and developing the country. It is a half-century journey starting from simple manual brick kilns serving the cause of both production and fighting until one day "Rising brilliantly", positioning itself as a strong national brand, like the story of Viglacera Corporation - JSC.
50 years of "fire testing gold"
From the primitive brick kilns in 1974, Viglacera has now grown to become the leading manufacturer of construction materials (VLXD) and real estate investor (RE) in Vietnam, writing the proud story of "National Brand". Not only "covering" a wide market share in the domestic market, Viglacera's products are also present in more than 40 countries and territories, bringing the Vietnamese brand far into the international arena.
With the determination to constantly innovate in technology, Viglacera has created a series of pioneering steps in production, and this is recorded in the history of the Vietnamese construction materials industry: Pioneering in changing the craft of brick production with "The solution of tunnel bricks with a combined channel and brick drying greenhouse; Pioneering in the production of construction glass, sanitary ware, and tiles in Vietnam; pioneering in the production of energy-saving glass... Not only that, Viglacera also made its name in the real estate sector when pioneering the development of large-scale social housing projects, a chain of modern industrial parks, and most recently, orienting the green and smart industrial model.
Those proud marks were vividly recreated at the "Celebration of Viglacera's 50-year Journey of Sustainable Development", which took place at the National Convention Center (Hanoi) on July 29, 2024.
On the Historical Road symbol, the precious documentary images themselves tell the story of each milestone of innovation, each strategic turning point that brought the Viglacera ship across the ocean, and beyond its own limits.
Those achievements are also reproduced by Viglacera at the Product Display Area with the green construction materials ecosystem in production in Vietnam such as PVD-plated shower heads, super white glass, sintered stone, autoclaved aerated concrete, ALC panels... Not only bearing the mark of Viglacera's intelligence and human hands, these products are also a message about the sustainable development orientation of the corporation in the coming period.
Lighting the pioneering "fire"
Despite 50 years of many changes, the spirit of “pioneering” is like a thread running through all actions, connecting the past, present and future of Viglacera. This spirit was fully reflected in the main content of the 50-year Journey of Sustainable Development Celebration with the image of “pioneering flame”.
The moment the symbol of the “pioneer flame” was lit, generations of Viglacera seemed to be connected, passing on their emotions, following the milestones of the “Golden Chronicle”…
As someone who has devoted his entire career to Viglacera Corporation, General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan shared: “Although the world has many fluctuations and changes, Viglacera’s history and tradition have always maintained a culture of solidarity, a desire for development, and contributions to the country’s economic development.”
The contributions and unceasing development efforts of generations of Viglacera have been recognized by the Party and the State through being awarded the First Class Independence Medal twice. At the 50th anniversary of the corporation, Viglacera was honored to receive the Emulation Flag in 2023 from the Minister of Construction for its outstanding achievements, leading the patriotic emulation movement, and implementing the tasks of the construction industry's work plan.
Rising high and shining, continuing the Viglacera Chronicles
The 50th anniversary of the Corporation's founding is not only an opportunity to look back on the glorious past and pay tribute to those who have worked hard to create today's proud achievements, but also a motivation for current and future generations to continue writing new pages of history. The pioneering spirit will continue to be a provision for tomorrow, towards new goals and aspirations, contributing to the overall development of the construction industry and the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Chairman of Viglacera's Board of Directors emphasized: "On the future journey, Viglacera will continue to develop in a sustainable direction, innovate equipment and technology, promote domestic and international investment activities, attract and retain talent,...".
Today’s “Journey with Vietnam to Reach Far” sets out many great and specific goals: In the next 10 years, an ecosystem of 25 industrial parks will be built; by 2030, 50,000 social housing units will be completed. And in the long term, the fulcrum will still be large-scale, high-capacity, and competitive construction material factories. The prerequisite is to meet the criteria of sustainable development and environmental friendliness.
50 years - a long journey, although arduous, but I have forged my will, to continue to conquer my aspirations to fly far.
