(Dan Tri) - According to the Hanoi People's Committee, if the Handico and Viglacera joint venture continues to fail to implement the project, the city will consider terminating the housing project for workers in Dong Anh district.
In the summary report on resolving voters' petitions in 2024 of the Hanoi People's Committee, voters said that the social housing project for low-income people with the code CT5 in Hau Duong village, Kim Chung commune (Dong Anh district, Hanoi) had announced land recovery since 2010, but until now it has not been implemented.
Therefore, voters requested the City People's Committee to direct the acceleration of progress and find solutions to remove obstacles for people in the project planning area to exercise land use rights according to the provisions of law.
Responding to this issue, the Hanoi People's Committee said that the housing project for workers at plot CT5 of Kim Chung New Urban Area, Kim Chung Commune, invested by the Joint Venture of Hanoi Housing Investment and Development Corporation (Handico) and Viglacera Corporation - JSC, has a land use area of about 14,330m2.

The project was approved for investment by the Hanoi People's Committee in 2009 and adjusted in 2015. Currently, the project has not yet implemented site clearance compensation and has not been allocated or leased land.
Recently, Hanoi City has issued many documents directing the implementation of measures to speed up investment progress, focusing on handling slow-to-implement non-budget capital projects using land in the area.
The Hanoi People's Committee said it will continue to direct departments and branches to review and remove difficulties and obstacles and request investors to speed up the project implementation progress. In case the investor continues to fail to implement the project, the Hanoi People's Committee will consider terminating the project according to the law.
At the same time, the Hanoi People's Committee also stated that the reason for the project's slow implementation is that it is subject to review and handling of non-budget capital projects using land that are slow to implement in the area.
