Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that on April 2, the US will impose tariffs on its trading partners. Responding to the question of whether Vietnam can avoid US tariffs in the context of Vietnam's active negotiations with the US on tariffs in recent times, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: Vietnam's stance on the new tax policy of President Donald Trump's administration was clearly stated on February 13.
On the basis of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation and Sustainable Development, Vietnam has been closely coordinating with the US to maintain the positive development momentum of bilateral trade relations.
"In the coming time, Vietnam is ready to exchange and work in a constructive and cooperative spirit with the US side to share information, enhance understanding, and remove existing obstacles to contribute to the stable and sustainable development of bilateral economic relations, meeting the interests of both sides," the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson emphasized.
