On the evening of September 22 local time, at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a friendly meeting with American friends.
This is a regular activity of Vietnamese leaders every time they visit the US, to express gratitude for the valuable support and assistance of American friends during the most difficult times.
According to the Prime Minister, the Vietnam-US relationship has become a model in the history of international relations for reconciliation and cooperation between former enemies, with remarkable developments since normalization in 1995, signing the Bilateral Trade Agreement in 2001, becoming a Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation and Sustainable Development in 2023.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam and the US will continue to cooperate on all 10 pillars of the new relationship framework, bringing benefits to the people of both countries as well as contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the world.
The Prime Minister asked American friends to continue to motivate and inspire the younger generation, and contribute more to fostering Vietnam-US relations in the spirit of respecting each other's institutions and independence and sovereignty.
American friends congratulated Vietnam on its successes throughout history, especially its great achievements after 35 years of renovation, both domestically and internationally. They believed that Vietnam would continue to achieve even greater achievements in the cause of national construction and defense, making more positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the US.
According to Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, the world is going through a period of great adjustment, bringing many challenges but also many opportunities. This is the reason to promote the establishment of the National Innovation Center and the establishment of the Vietnam Innovation Network.

The motto is to catch up, move forward together and surpass, according to Minister Nguyen Chi Dung. Mr. Dung informed that Mr. Cuong Do, a member of the network, former Global Strategy Director of Samsung, has accepted to be a strategic advisor to the National Innovation Center in the fields of semiconductors and healthcare.
Listening to opinions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that we must always be in a state of innovation and creativity, because resources originate from thinking and awareness, motivation originates from innovation and creativity, and strength originates from people and businesses.
Appreciating the establishment of the Vietnam Innovation Network which has received much support, the Prime Minister said that in order for the network to grow continuously, it is important to "harmonize interests and share risks", bringing practical benefits to members and participants.
"Innovation must be linked to practice and must bring about higher efficiency and be measurable. This is a global trend, so we must promote international solidarity and domestic solidarity to create strength," the Prime Minister emphasized.
He suggested that the network's innovation activities should focus on promoting new areas such as digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy and infrastructure.
