The editor-in-chief of Dan Tri newspaper shared: "A few months ago, at this location, Dan Tri newspaper, together with local authorities, sponsors and households, chose the first bricks to start building Charity houses to rebuild a new life for Lao Cai people after the storm and flood.
And today, also here, attending the inauguration ceremony of 7 Charity houses, I am deeply moved. Our joint efforts can only help a little because the loss of a loved one is still the greatest loss. I hope that in the future, local leaders, benefactors, and readers of Dan Tri newspaper will continue to care for, support, and accompany families, especially the unfortunate children who have lost loved ones," shared the Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper.
Editor-in-Chief Pham Tuan Anh added that this morning, Dan Tri newspaper started building 4 Charity houses in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province; this weekend, it will start building 5 more Charity houses in Cao Bang province, bringing the total number of Charity houses to 100, exceeding the set plan of building 100 Charity houses in 2024-2025.
Attending the program, Mr. Vu Hong Phuong, Deputy Head of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, said that on October 9, 2024, Dan Tri newspaper coordinated with local authorities and philanthropists to organize the groundbreaking ceremony to build 7 Charity houses for households in Van Ban district (2 households), Simacai district (2 households), Sa Pa town (3 households). The total support fund is 700,000,000 VND, equivalent to 100,000,000 VND/house.
During the construction process, the local Party Committee and government have always been concerned and mobilized other supporting resources from working days to materials from brothers, friends, neighbors and other benefactors. On that basis, each house built has a different investment level from 100-700 million VND, depending on the family's counterpart resources. The total value of 7 Charity houses is up to more than 2 billion VND.
"The concern, sharing and encouragement of Dan Tri newspaper and philanthropists is the embodiment of national love and compatriotism with the fine tradition of "gourd, please love squash, although different species but on the same trellis" of the people of Lao Cai as well as the whole country.
That spirit, that fine tradition has turned into great strength and resources, overcoming all geographical limitations, overcoming dangers and hardships, connecting millions of hearts towards people in disaster areas, rebuilding their lives.
On behalf of the leaders of Lao Cai BTG&DVTU, I would like to sincerely thank Dan Tri Newspaper, Minh Tri Thanh Academy Joint Stock Company and benefactors for their timely attention, connection, support and sharing in the face of local difficulties. This is a solid "support", a very important and necessary resource to support people to partly reduce their loss and disadvantage, quickly overcome difficulties, and gradually stabilize their new lives," Mr. Vu Hong Phuong added.
Mr. Nguyen Van Luong, General Director of Minh Tri Thanh Academy Joint Stock Company shared: "This is not only an event marking the completion of new houses, but more importantly, it is a milestone opening a new journey, a new future full of hope for families who have experienced many losses and difficulties.
This journey would not have been possible without the cooperation of many individuals and organizations. On behalf of Minh Tri Thanh Academy, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Dan Tri newspaper, local authorities, BTG&DVTU, Department of Home Affairs and all benefactors who have accompanied and contributed to the completion of this noble gesture."
Mrs. Ha Thi Do, a Tay ethnic (grandmother of Nguyen Anh Thuy, the child who lost both her parents in the collapse of the Southeast Asia - Nam Luc hydropower plant's operating building), was moved on the day of the inauguration of the Nhan Ai house. Mrs. Do choked up as she expressed her heartfelt thanks to the local government and readers of Dan Tri newspaper for supporting the construction of the Nhan Ai house.
On this occasion, Dan Tri newspaper presented 7 housewarming gifts to 7 families receiving Nhan Ai houses, each family received 1 million VND and 10 tubes of vitamins. The total cash value was 7 million VND.
Minh Tri Thanh Academy Joint Stock Company also presented 7 gifts to households receiving Nhan Ai houses, with a total value of 10,500,000 VND.
Not stopping there, Dan Tri newspaper continues to set a new goal, by the end of 2025, to build 200 Charity houses (double the set plan). To do that, Dan Tri newspaper really needs the trust, companionship, and help of readers, donors, and the attention and support of local leaders across the country.
Responding to the Government's goals, in the 2024-2025 period, Dan Tri newspaper will implement a program to build 100 Charity houses, giving them to households in difficult circumstances and unable to work across the country.
Since April 10, 2024, Dan Tri Newspaper has started construction of 95 Charity Houses. Of these, 16 Charity Houses were built according to the plan to rebuild the lives of people in flood-hit areas, and were given to 16 households that suffered heavy damage caused by storm No. 3.
As of March 12, 73/95 Charity houses have been inaugurated.
