NDO - On March 7, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology held a Conference to implement the Decisions on arrangement, consolidation, merger, and reorganization of units; Decision on the Regulations on Organization and Operation of units; Decision on Party organization arrangement; Decision on leadership cadre work, Decision on Party Committees and Inspection Committees, and positions in Party Committees of affiliated units.
Attending the Conference were Professor, Academician Chau Van Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (Academy); Comrade Pham Tuan Huy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Vice Presidents of the Academy: Professor Tran Tuan Anh; Professor, Academician Le Truong Giang; Professor Chu Hoang Ha, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Academy; Comrades in the Steering Committee for the implementation of Resolution 18/NQ-TU of the Academy; Leaders of specialized units assisting the President of the Academy; Leaders of the Party Committee Office; Chairman of the Trade Union; Chairman of the Veterans Association; Secretary of the Youth Union; Leaders and Party Committees of units subject to arrangement, consolidation and merger.
At the Conference, the leaders of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology awarded Decisions to 12 units after restructuring their organizational structure. Specifically as follows:
Institute of Chemistry: Decision No. 313/QD-VHL dated March 1, 2025, the President of the Academy decided to merge the Institute of Chemistry of Natural Compounds and the Institute of Marine Biochemistry into the Institute of Chemistry; The decision takes effect from March 15, 2025.
Decision No. 269-QD/DU dated March 1, 2025, the Party Executive Committee of the Academy decided to establish the Party Committee of the Institute of Chemistry as a grassroots Party Committee under the Party Committee of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, on the basis of merging the Party Cell of the Institute of Chemistry of Natural Compounds and the Party Cell of the Institute of Marine Biochemistry into the Party Committee of the Institute of Chemistry. The Party Committee of the Institute of Chemistry consists of 6 affiliated Party Cells with 99 Party members.
Institute of Biology: Decision No. 307/QD-VHL dated March 1, 2025, the President of the Academy decided to merge the Institute of Biotechnology, the Institute of Genome Research and the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources into the Institute of Biology; The Decision takes effect from March 15, 2025.
Decision No. 274-QD/DU dated March 1, 2025, the Party Executive Committee of the Academy decided to establish the Party Committee of the Institute of Biology on the basis of merging the Party Committee of the Institute of Biotechnology, the Party Committee of the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources and the Party Cell of the Institute of Genome Research; The Party Committee of the Institute of Biology consists of 9 Party Cells with 154 Party members.

Decision No. 270-QD/DU dated March 1, 2025, the Party Executive Committee of the Academy decided to establish the Party Committee of the Institute of Earth Sciences on the basis of merging the Party Committee of the Institute of Geography, the Party Cell of the Institute of Geology, the Party Cell of the Institute of Geophysics and the Party Cell of the Institute of Geology and Marine Geophysics; The Party Committee of the Institute of Earth Sciences consists of 11 Party Cells with 117 Party members.
Institute of Energy and Environmental Science and Technology : Decision No. 319/QD-VHL dated March 1, 2025, the President of the Academy decided to merge the Institute of Marine Resources and Environment into the Institute of Energy and Environmental Science and Technology; The decision takes effect from March 15, 2025.

Decision No. 277-QD/DU dated March 1, 2025, the Party Executive Committee of the Academy decided to establish the Party Committee of the Institute of Information Technology on the basis of reorganizing the Party Committee of the Institute of Information Technology and the Party Cell of the Institute of Mechanics and Applied Informatics; The Party Committee of the Institute of Information Technology consists of 5 Party Cells with 49 Party members.
Institute of Life Sciences : Decision No. 309/QD-VHL dated March 1, 2025, the President of the Academy decided to merge the Institute of Tropical Biology and the Tay Nguyen Institute of Scientific Research into the Institute of Life Sciences; The Decision takes effect from March 15, 2025.
