Strict recruitment, ensuring the quality of teachers at English centers

With the great demand for English teachers with professional teaching training, TESOL training programs have recently flourished and developed rapidly in our country.

However, according to Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc (Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association), to pursue and develop an English teaching career (especially for those who are not in the same field), in addition to professional knowledge and skills, specific directions and roadmaps are needed, especially sharing from teachers, senior colleagues and employers.

At the first event in the seminar series "Navigating your TESOL future" organized by the Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association with the theme "Insights from employers", the speakers mentioned many related issues such as pedagogical methods, updating trends, requirements and market tastes as well as necessary skills for young people to pursue the path of researching and teaching English.

The speakers gave their views on the path to becoming a teacher at English centers for young people today.

There is no room for the "time is up, work is done" mentality.

The panel discussion of the above workshop featured 3 speakers: Master Nguyen Phuoc Lan (Deputy Director of the Center for Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology, University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City), Master Nguyen Thi Thu Huong (CEO of the English and Life Skills System for Children, Gee - O English), Master Le Dinh Luc (Founder and CEO of DOL English - the leading English Thinking Academy System in Vietnam).

Sharing at the seminar, Master Le Dinh Luc affirmed: an English teacher in the current context needs to have an IELTS score of at least 8.0, good teaching skills and some certificates and degrees related to language or science. In particular, an English teacher must be dedicated to students and the profession, willing to work overtime to accompany students instead of thinking "when hours are up, work is over".

In particular, at DOL English, teachers must also pass a special training course, have good logical thinking and technology knowledge to master the exclusive Linearthinking method as well as the DOL Super LMS online self-study system.

Agreeing with the above opinion, the speakers said that if you really have motivation, strong inner strength and high EQ, young people who want to become English teachers should be themselves, and always pay attention to "filtering" out shortcomings and promoting strengths if you want to move towards a sustainable, developing career.

Also at the workshop, along with “outlining” the portrait of an English teacher that both educational institutions and students are looking for, the speakers also proposed solutions to increase income for young people who want to pursue a career in English teaching; the need to recruit English teachers in the near future.
